Newsbreakers
November 11, 2008
Alexei Ramirez is ready to move to shortstop for the White Sox next year, if needed, according to the AP. "I'd be extremely happy. I do feel it's my natural position, I feel it's the position that I've always felt most comfortable and natural in," Ramirez said Tuesday in a conference call.

Our View:The Sox aren't expected to bring Orlando Cabrera back, so Alexei is likely to move to the other side of second base. Although he has a penchant to make the spectacular play, Ramirez isn't a great defender fundamentally, so the transition could be rough.
October 31, 2008
Alexei Ramirez is slated to move from second base to shortstop with the Sox in 2009, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:This news is another indication that Orlando Cabrera will not be back with the club. Chicago will likely target someone to cover second base, potentially Chone Figgins.
September 29, 2008
Alexei Ramirez set a rookie record with his fourth grand slam of the season on Monday as Chicago beat Detroit 8-2, forcing a one-game tiebreaker against Minnesota for the AL Central tie. He finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs, four RBI and a stolen base.

Our View:The Cuban Missile has a lot of power in his wiry frame in a similar vein as Alfonso Soriano. He will likely finish second in AL Rookie of the Year voting behind Evan Longoria.
September 20, 2008
Alexei Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Kansas City.

Our View:The rookie notched his 20th homer of the season, with four coming over his last eight games. He shall remain active in lineups heading into the last week of the regular season.
September 19, 2008
Alexei Ramirez hit a grand slam in Kansas City on Friday as the White Sox won on the road 9-4. The shot was his 19th of the season and gives him 70 RBI.

Our View:The rookie continues to make a name for himself across the AL with his across the board production.
