August 6, 2008 The Cardinals optioned Nick Stavinoha to Triple-A Memphis Wednesday. Stavinoha has hit .200 with four RBI in 25 at-bats with the Cards this year.
Our View:Stavinoha has put up terrific numbers at Triple-A, but he hasn't looked good in his two big league stints.

Our View:Don't expect him to stick around very long as the Cardinals will be bringing back Chris Carpenter on Wednesday. Stavinoha will likely have his roster spot taken away then.
June 22, 2008 As expected, the Cardinals brought outfielder Nick Stavinoha out of Triple-A Memphis today to bolster the roster and fill the void left by injured shortstop Cesar Izturis and have announced he will serve as the team's designated hitter against the Boston Red Sox today.
