Our View:The 30-year-old infielder only has 19 career at-bats in the majors (all this season), and was considered expendable.

Our View:Washington, who was in the minors for 11 year and almost 4000 AB prior to making the squad out of camp this year, was only 3-for-19 in limited playing time with the Cards.
