Switching course after another abysmal outing by the bullpen on Monday, Eddie Kunz will be the hurler that the Mets turn to if a save situation arises on Tuesday, according to MLB.com. "I have to go and get everything I can with the people we have here," manager Jerry Manuel said. "We've got to fix this. We can't continue to perform this way late in the game. I have to find a way, a pitcher who will step up and fill that role."

Our View:The report even stated that Manuel gave serious consideration to bringing John Maine back off the DL to close. Seriously. The Mets situation is just awful which highlights why it was so vexing that they didn't do anything to bolster the pen at the trade deadline.

Skipper Jerry Manuel hinted that Eddie Kunz could be sent down to the minors when John Maine is activated from the DL for his start Wednesday, according to Newsday.

Our View:If sent down, Brian Stokes would likely move to the bullpen to cover his spot.
