August 1, 2008 The Minnesota Twins will call up first baseman and outfielder Randy Ruiz from Triple-A Rochester to take the roster spot of Craig Monroe, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Our View:Ruiz is a journeyman type at 30 years of age, but he's a journeyman who can hit. At Triple-A this year, Ruiz is hitting .320 with 17 home runs, 33 doubles and 68 RBI. He has a career .301 average with more than 160 home runs in his minor league career. It's possible he could have a fantasy impact if he keeps hitting, but keep an eye on him to see how many at-bats he will be getting for the Twins.
