Freddy Garcia, P Friday 10/10, 1:59 PM CT
Tigers pitcher Freddy Garcia left his last start of the season due to shoulder stiffness, but he will attempt to get things worked out and pitch in winter ball in Venezuela in anticipation of next season, according to Tigers.com.

Our View: Garcia will gradually work up his pitch count in order to be fully ready for spring training. He will be a free agent next year unless the Tigers sign him before the end of the World Series - which is not going to happen.
Jeff Larish, 1B Wednesday 10/8, 4:25 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Jeff Larish will work at third base, rather than first, in the Arizona Fall League. Should he show well, he stands a good chance to make the 2009 Major League roster. He filled in for Carlos Guillen down the stretch and finished the season with a .260 average and 16 RBI in 104 at-bats.

Our View: His league-leading 28 home runs and 101 RBIs at Double-A Erie earned him Tigers Minor League Player of the Year honors in 2007, and he followed that with 21 homers and 64 RBIs in 103 games for Toledo this year. With more work, he could provide the lefty power the Tigers have sought in some kind of role for the last few years, but the Tigers have to find a way to use him. It has been said that Guillen may find himself playing outfield next season.
Ramon Santiago, SS Sunday 10/5, 3:32 PM CT
The Detroit News speculates that the Tigers could go with Ramon Santiago at shortstop next season until prospect Cale Iorg is ready to contribute.

Our View: It still seems very early to be speculating, but Edgar Renteria has probably played his last game for the team.
