Ryan Madson, P Thursday 12/4, 9:02 AM CT
Phillies' GM Ruben Amaro Jr. has talked to reliever Ryan Madson regarding a contract extension, according to BaseballProspectus.com.

Our View: Madson held a solid 1.23 WHIP with the club in 2008, and may be difficult to extend, as he is represented by Scott Boras, who compared Madson to Mariano Rivera.
Jayson Werth, RF Thursday 12/4, 8:57 AM CT
Phillies' GM Ruben Amaro Jr. has talked to Jayson Werth regarding an extension, according to BaseballProspectus.com.

Our View: This makes sense for the Phillies to extend Werth, as he could become more valuable to the club with Pat Burrell likely departing as a free agent. Werth was a solid clutch hitter for the champs in 2008, and blasted 24 homers and stole 20 bases.
Pat Burrell, LF Wednesday 12/3, 2:12 PM CT
Pat Burrell is getting interest from the Seattle Mariners, along with the L.A. Angels and San Francisco Giants, according to FoxSports.com reporter Ken Rosenthal.

Our View: Burrell's fantasy value would likely go down should he join the Mariners in their spacious ballpark and leave Citizens Bank Park.
Ryan Howard, 1B Wednesday 12/3, 9:09 AM CT
Postseason shares for the world champion Philadelphia Phillies were $351,404.48, according to the Boston Globe. The Tampa Bay Rays' full shares were worth $223,390.05.

Our View: Some fans may not realize that postseason teams get these shares, and the farther they go, the more they are worth, which is yet another incentive for advancing.
Jamie Moyer, P Monday 12/1, 11:39 PM CT
Updating earlier reports, the Phillies did not offer Jamie Moyer salary arbitration on Monday, according Philly.com.

Our View: There were reports earlier in the day that said that the Phillies were expected to offer the 46-year-old arbitration.
Jamie Moyer, P Monday 12/1, 10:19 AM CT
The Phillies are expected to offer Jamie Moyer salary arbitration, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: The team would like to have the 46-year-old pitcher back and Moyer feels the same way. He maintained a 1.33 WHIP while nailing down 16 wins for the champs in 2008.
