Newsbreakers Rocco Baldelli is being pursued by the Yankees, Rays, Red Sox, and Phillies, according to Fox Sports .Our View: Baldelli's mitochondrial disorder means that he can't be overused, so a team with some depth in the outfield might be the best fit for him.
The Tampa Bay Rays will almost certainly not trade shortstop Jason Bartlett, despite rumors to the contrary, according to MLB.com. Our View: Bartlett was voted the team's MVP by the writers before the postseason, so he certainly contributes more than the numbers fantasy owners value.
It is possible that Cliff Floyd will retire due to his shoulder injury, according to the Sporting News Today. Our View: Floyd was with the Tampa Bay Rays last season, and made a solid contribution, with 11 home runs, 39 RBI and a .268 batting average. He has a torn labrum in his right shoulder, however.
