Caron Butler will play Wednesday night against the Blazers after concerns about his knee, according to the Washington Post. There were some concerns that Butler might not be able to play against the Blazers a night after he banged knees with Bobby Simmons on Tuesday night.
Our View:Butler's stock has been rising as of late. He is averaging 21.7 points a night to go along with six rebounds and four assists.

Our View:Butler's fantasy stock took a dive for a bit last week, but his consecutive games with a double-double has him owned in nearly all leagues again. You could still look to pluck him away from a disappointed owner in a trade though.

Caron Butler came up with a nice encore to his 21 point, 12 rebound performance on Tuesday with a 32 point game on Wednesday to help the Wizards at least be competitive against the Hawks. The Hawks ended up dropping the Wizards 91-87. Butler finished with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals as well.
Our View:Butler's been a nice fantasy player so far this season, averaging about 20 points-per-game and around seven rebounds. Keep him in your lineup.

The AP reports that Caron Butler left the court late in the second quarter of Saturday's game with a bloody cut over his left eye, sustained when he hit heads with Mickael Pietrus. Butler returned for the second half wearing a bandage, but he was held to just 10 points and no rebounds.
Our View:At least he has an excuse, we suppose. This was by far Butler's worst performance of the season. Coming into the game, he was averaging 41.5 minutes per game. He played just 24 in Saturday's loss.

Our View:Butler has failed to play in even 65 games the past two years, so his health is obviously the key to his overall value given the fact that he has averaged 20 points and seven rebounds a game the past two seasons.

"We've had two-a-days and I've been coming over early every day for extra work so I don't want to bang my body up too much. I'm trying to rest my body as much as possible so I don't have to go through the same reoccurring thing again this season."
Our View:Butler has played only 63 and 58 games the last two seasons. He is an All-Star caliber talent and a fantasy stud when healthy, and it's good to see him being proactive. His history with injuries should cut into his solid fantasy value, though.

The Washington Wizards managed to save victory from the jaws of defeat this evening as Cleveland forward LeBron James watched his lane-driving finger roll rim out as the final seconds wound off the clock, giving the Wiz an 88-87 victory. The Wiz were led by forward Caron Butler , enjoying a magnificent evening in his best playoff performance to date. Butler shot 11-of-22 from the field, 4-of-8 from the three-point line, and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe to score 32 points, adding nine rebounds and five assists to the effort.
Our View:Butler has struggled in this series as tonight's performance is his first in the series with 20+ points. Tonight's win gives the Wiz hope, though the 3-2 series deficit will be challenging to overcome.

With Gilbert Arenas struggling for health throughout the season, the Washington Wizards had come to look at SF Caron Butler as their team leader. Today, Butler failed to fulfill those obligations, shooting just 5-of-10 from the field, 0-of-3 from the three-point line, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line to finish with 14 points. Butler also added just four rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the devastating 86-93 loss.
Our View:A slight improvement from Butler would have brought a valuable road win for the Wiz, and we know Butler has much more to give. Look for improved returns (and different results) as we move forward.
