Stoudemire posted those impressive numbers in just 29 minutes. "Since I've been back, that's definitely the strongest that I've felt," said Stoudemire, who missed the entire training camp and all but the last two preseason games. "It's just a matter of improving, try to get more workouts in and try to get in better shape slowly but surely."

Suns center Amare Stoudemire plans on returning from a two-game absence on Wednesday when Phoenix plays in Atlanta. "No doubt," Stoudemire told the AP. "I feel better about playing (Wednesday night). I just don't want to jump out there too soon." Amare has been out with swelling in his right knee.

Suns center Amare Stoudemire could miss his second straight game on Tuesday night due to swelling in his right knee, the AP reported. "It all depends on how I feel," Stoudemire said on Monday. "If I feel good tomorrow, then I'll play. If not, then I'll sit it out. There's no pressure being put on me by the staff or the trainers."

He appears to be on track for the start of the season, though obviously he won't be drafted without some risk involved.

Suns center Amare Stoudemire underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday, the team’s website reported. The surgery was done to remove a loose body from the knee, and Amare is expected to resume basketball activities in 2-3 weeks.

Amare Stoudemire is scheduled to have his right knee scoped Tuesday morning, the Arizona Republic reports. It will be Stoudemire's third knee surgery in two years, but it is not the knee that undwent the microfracture procedure two years ago. There has been swelling in Stoudemire's right knee recently, prompting him to undergo an MRI on Sunday. There is an expectation that it will be a simple procedure to remove a "loose body" and that he would only miss two to three weeks but a scope can also reveal more than a MRI does.

Suns center Amare Stoudemire will not be allowed to play in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against San Antonio because of a one-game suspension handed down by the league on Tuesday. The AP reported that Stoudemire was suspended one game for leaving the bench area during Game 4 when Spurs forward Robert Horry knocked Suns guard Steve Nash into the scorers table late in the contest.
