The speculation is that Jazz forward Carlos Boozer might opt out of his 2009-10 salary ($12.7 million) in order to become a free agent and join the Miami Heat, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. "Everything will work out this summer. I live there, so that's why rumors start to fly," Boozer says.

Our View:The Heat may not have the cap space to break the bank for Boozer, and they also have a young power forward in Michael Beasley. Oh, and why would they spend big on Boozer when Dwyane Wade needs to be paid one summer later?
December 1, 2008
Carlos Boozer is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Kings as he continues to recover from his injured quad tendon, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Our View:Boozer has a shot to return at some point next week, barring a setback. He shall remain stashed on fantasy rosters.
November 27, 2008
Carlos Boozer said that he is not close to returning from his injured quadriceps tendon, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Our View:Boozer could be back by next week, but he wouldn't speculate on specifics to account for the possibility of a setback. We'll keep you updated on his status.
November 26, 2008
Carlos Boozer will miss another game Wednesday while recovering from a quadriceps tendon strain and bone bruise, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Keep him stashed on fantasy rosters. He won't likely return until early December.
November 25, 2008
The Knicks would have room to acquire Carlos Boozer if they trade Eddy Curry by February for an expiring contract, according to the NY Post. Boozer is set to become a free agent after the season.

Our View:The Knicks are interested in adding LeBron James, and the club feels they will need to add another star player as a package, such as Boozer, to make it happen.
November 22, 2008
Carlos Boozer is optimistic that he can return within a week or 10 days from his quadriceps tendon strain and bone bruise, according to the The Salt Lake Tribune.

Our View:This is injury will keep Boozer out until at least early December.
November 21, 2008
As expected, Carlos Boozer missed Friday's game against the Spurs due to a strained quad, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He thinks he is going to miss Saturday's battle at Memphis as well, and shall remain reserved on fantasy rosters.
November 21, 2008
Carlos Boozer suffered a strained quadriceps tendon with 3:55 left in Wednesday night's 105-94 win over Milwaukee, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. He is doubtful to play on Friday against the Spurs.

Our View:Boozer is off to a great start this season. The bright side of this news is that it is not his surgically repaired hamstring that will keep him out.
November 20, 2008
Carlos Boozer is slated for an MRI on his strained quad, according to the Deseret News.

Our View:As of now, Boozer does not believe the injury is serious. We will keep you posted on Boozer's status, who is averaging 20.5 points and 11.7 boards per game.
November 19, 2008
Carlos Boozer has been consistently putting up huge numbers for the Jazz, but to no avail. On Wednesday, he had substantial numbers with 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and a block while the Jazz won 105-94.

Our View:Boozer has been one of the league's most consistent players for scoring and rebounding this season and should be even better once they get Derron Williams back.
November 17, 2008
Carlos Boozer scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Jazz to a 109-97 win on Monday.

Our View:Boozer remains the anchor for a Jazz team that is missing Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur. He has been one of the best fantasy big men in the game to this point in the season.
November 15, 2008
Carlos Boozer had 17 points with nine rebounds and four assists on Saturday for the Jazz, who lost on consecutive nights.

Our View:The Jazz are still without Mehmet Okur, Derron Williams, and Andre Kirilenko, and probably won't start winning consistently again until they get those three back.
November 14, 2008
Carlos Boozer had a strong game for the depleted Jazz on Friday, scoring 26 points, with 15 rebounds, a steal, and an assist in Utah's 104-96 loss to the Bobcats.

Our View:The Jazz were without Mehmet Okur, Derron Williams, and Andre Kirilenko on Friday. Okur is in Turkey with his ailing father, while Williams and Kirilenko are both dealing with injuries. Boozer kept the Jazz close, but it's difficult to win when missing three key players.
November 11, 2008
Carlos Boozer led the Jazz in scoring with 19 points in Tuesday night's 93-80 win over the 76ers. To go along with the points Boozer added 16 rebounds.

Our View:Another double-double for Boozer who is averaging 20 points a game and 11 rebounds a game. There isn't a much better all-around fantasy player in the NBA.
November 9, 2008
Carlos Boozer hit seven of 11 shots on Sunday on his way to scoring 19 points. He also hauled in 17 rebounds while producing three assists and three steals.

Our View:Boozer is a double-double machine who on a nightly basis continues to go out an post mind numbingly consistent numbers. There aren't many safer bets in the fantasy game.
November 5, 2008
The Pistons are believed to target Carlos Boozer in the off-season, according to HoopsWorld.com.

Our View:With Allen Iverson's $21 million salary coming off the books, the Pistons are positioned to be big players in the free agent market. He is among the most productive forwards in the NBA, and is currently averaging 21 points and 10.7 boards over three games. Teams in the Northwest division would love to see him leave Utah.
November 1, 2008
Carlos Boozer collected a double-double in Saturday's 101-79 win over the Clippers, with a game-high 25 points and 10 boards. He also chipped in three assists.

Our View:Boozer is off to a strong start as he is averaging 25 points and 12 boards over the first two games. He should remain among the most productive fantasy forwards in the league.
October 29, 2008
Carlos Boozer had 25 points and 14 rebounds as the Jazz defeated the Nuggets 98-94 on Wednesday.

Our View:This was excellent production in light of the fact that Utah was without their All-Star point guard, Deron Williams. Boozer is a lock to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.
October 18, 2008
Carlos Boozer recorded a double-double in Saturday's 88-80 preseason win over the Bulls, with 17 points and 16 boards. He also notched two assists and a steal. He played just under 35 minutes.

Our View:Boozer has averaged a double-double over each of his last two seasons, and should remain one of the most valuable fantasy power forwards in 2008.
October 17, 2008
Carlos Boozer led four Jazz players who scored at least 14 points with 22 in the Jazz's 108-105 loss to the Bulls. Mehmet Okur scored 17, Paul Millsap had 16 and Derron Williams added 14.

Our View:Boozer also added six boards in 26 minutes of action on the night. Boozer will be one of the top power-forwards off the board after back-to-back seasons of at 20 points and 10 rebounds.
October 12, 2008
Carlos Boozer made his preseason debut on Sunday against Portland after missing the first two Jazz exhibitions due to a sore hamstring. He played just 15 minutes, scored 12 points and collected eight rebounds in the 93-80 victory.

Our View:Boozer is probably in the second tier of the many elite power forwards when it comes to fantasy basketball. He is a good bet for 20 points and 10 rebounds but comes up empty in the blocks category while being an average free throw shooter.
October 9, 2008
Carlos Boozer will be held out of his second consecutive preseason game on Thursday, according to the Desert News. He is dealing with a sore hamstring - the same one that he tore three years ago. He says missing the game is merely a precaution and that he will be ready for the regular season.

Our View:He won't be hurt much should he miss a good chunk of the preseason. He is very familiar with Utah's staff and personnel. If Boozer were to miss any time during the regular season, Paul Millsap would be worth acquiring.
October 7, 2008
The AP reports that Carlos Boozer missed Tuesday night's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers because of a sore hamstring. The All-Star said the injury was not serious. However, it is the same hamstring Boozer tore three years ago, limiting him to 33 games in the 2005-06 season. “Just a little sore,” Boozer told the Deseret News. “So, I’d rather be safe than sorry.”

Our View:If Boozer were to miss any time during the regular season, Paul Millsap would be worth acquiring. At this point, consider Boozer ready for another 80 games this year.
October 1, 2008
Forward Carlos Boozer doesn't want to make any contract decision until after the 2008-09 season. He is eligible to opt out of his current deal after this campaign. "We're gonna let (contract matters) slide, so it's ready to be dealt with in the summertime," Boozer tells the Deseret News.

Our View:We all know Boozer is a man of his word when it comes to contracts. Just ask Gordon Gund. It seems like the Jazz are letting Boozer dictate the negotiation times, but they should be prepared for him to jump ship next summer.
September 16, 2008
Carlos Boozer may not be long for the Utah Jazz, as the team has no plans to move into the luxury-tax threshold, and he has an opt-out clause in his contract after the season, according to the Desert News. "We're going to have to make some very, very tough decisions next year," said Jazz owner Larry Miller.

Our View:The team does not want to pay the luxury tax that comes with a high payroll, so Boozer may be gently pushed out the door. He is an outstanding player for fantasy owners, but he may just suit up somewhere else in 2009.
August 24, 2008
Reports out of Miami indicate the Heat are due to come into open funds to pursue free agents in the coming years, and with that money they plan to show love to Carlos Boozer, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:The Heat likely will have a little more than $11 million next summer, assuming Shawn Marion isn't re-signed. Moving Michael Beasley to small forward would make it work and could put the Heat back on the map. It's all pie in the sky right now, but the future could be bright in Miami if they can get it done.
June 29, 2008
Carlos Boozer is likely to opt out of his contract with the Jazz next summer, and there is speculation swirling that the Heat will be targeting him, according to the Deseret News. Boozer downplayed the rumor by saying, "I live in Miami. I'm going there no matter what I do, that's home for me. That's just talk. I've been talked about in rumors my whole career."

Our View:The Heat do need a power forward, and Boozer would likely be among the top free agents on the market if he opts out next summer, as he averaged 21.1 points and 10.4 boards per game with the Jazz in 2007-08. But a lot can happen by then.
May 17, 2008
Carlos Boozer notched a game-high 14 boards in Friday's 108-105 loss to the Lakers. He also tallied 12 points, two assists, and one steal. The Lakers won the series 4-2.

Our View:Boozer had a solid series against Los Angeles, as he averaged 12.8 rebounds and 16 points.
May 15, 2008
The Utah Jazz battled mightily, but in the end they couldn't match the effort of the Los Angeles Lakers, falling 111-104 to fall back 3-2 in their Western Conference semifinal series. Utah forward Carlos Boozer did his best, shooting 6-of-16 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line to score 18 points with 12 total rebounds and two assists in the double-double effort.

Our View:Boozer was frustrated trying to deal with both Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom down low, and that combination proved deadly against Boozer in the paint.
May 11, 2008
Carlos Boozer scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Utah Jazz beat the Los Angeles Lakers 123-115 on Sunday, tying the Western Conference semifinals at 2-2.

Our View:Boozer did little to assist his teammates in the first half of Sunday's win, and must become more consistent if he intends on helping his team to a Game 5 win in Los Angels.
May 9, 2008
Carlos Boozer broke out of his slump with 27 points and tied his career playoff-high with 20 rebounds, leading the Utah Jazz to a 104-99 victory over Los Angeles on Friday night.

Our View:Boozer, however, missed two free throws at the end of the game. While they didn't matter to this game, he has to be more efficient at the charity stripe. At some point in this series they will count.
May 7, 2008
Carlos Boozer hasn't been himself during the playoffs. The power forward hasn't scored 20 points in six straight playoff games and has just two total blocked shots over that span.

Our View:If the Jazz plan to make a series of Round 2, Boozer's scoring and defense must improve.
April 29, 2008
The hope was to return back to Salt Lake City with a series victory and a date with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Utah Jazz missed those opportunities by suffering a 95-69 loss to the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of their 1st-round playoff series, giving Houston life in a series that now sits in favor of the Jazz, 3-2. The Jazz were led by forward Carlos Boozer , shooting 8-of-18 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line to score 19 points, a team high, adding 10 rebounds (also a team high) and three steals.

Our View:Boozer has been solid in the playoffs but may need to raise his game beyond the 15.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game averaged during this series if they are going to put the Rockets to bed and compete with the Lakers.
April 19, 2008
Carlos Boozer scored 20 points on 10-for-20 shooting, and grabbed 16 boards in the Jazz 93-82 victory over the Rockets.

Our View:Boozer averaged 21.1 points and 10.4 boards per game over the course of the regular season, so tonight's effort was only slightly better than what he has done all season.
April 14, 2008
Carlos Boozer had, well, a fairly typical Carlos Boozer night on Monday. He led the Jazz with 21 points and contributed 11 boards and two assists against the Rockets. Boozer shot 9-of-13 from the floor.

Our View:For the second straight year, Boozer will end up averaging a double-double and shooting over 54 percent. He is a rock-solid fantasy forward.
April 8, 2008
Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer failed to impress this evening, but the Jazz managed to prevail despite their struggles. Boozer went 5-of-14 from the floor and failed to garner a single foul, scoring just 10 points with six rebounds and one assist. Williams went just 2-of-11 from the floor, 0-of-2 from three-point land, and, like Boozer, failed to pull a single foul, scoring just FOUR points on the evening. On the bright side, Williams posted 16 assists, the lone stat not attached to Mehmet Okur worth mentioning.
March 30, 2008
Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 25 points and 10 boards in a 110-103 loss to Minnesota on Sunday. He also chipped in three assists and a steal, and is averaging 28.2 points over his last four games.
March 29, 2008
Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams continue to show why they may be one of the more underrated tandem commodities in the NBA, Boozer scoring 34 points with a whopping 17 rebounds, matched only by Williams’ 32-point effort in Utah’s 121-101 win over the struggling LA Clippers last night. The game, despite a lackluster opponent lined up across the hardwood, figured to be difficult with both Mehmet Okur and Ronnie Brewer sidelined with some kind of stomach virus, and Andrei Kirilenko left nine minutes into the game with calf spasms. That left Boozer and Williams to do work. Boozer responded in grand fashion, going 16-of-22 from the floor while Williams went an astounding 13-of-15, adding 10 assists to help them along.
March 22, 2008
Three of Utah's most promising stars joined forces, all posting double-double efforts, to lift the Utah Jazz over the Seattle SuperSonics, 115-101. Carlos Boozer scored 26 points with 9-of-16 from the field and 13 rebounds. Deron Williams posted 15 points, going just 5-of-11 from the field, with 14 assists. Last but not least, Mehmet Okur scored 24 points, going a surprising 8-of-17 from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point land, with 10 rebounds.
March 20, 2008
Carlos Boozer is expected to play Thursday night, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. He is expected to play after suffering a lower back strain against the Raptors. Boozer said, "It's been nagging for about two months and it finally pulled in the Toronto game." Boozer is averaging 21.4 points and 10.6 boards per game this season and would be a big boost for the Jazz to get him back tonight against the Lakers.

Carlos Boozer led Utah to a 96-79 win over Toronto as he contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block. Boozer notably scored 41 points in his last outing on March 15 and followed that up nicely with another solid performance.
March 15, 2008
Carlos Boozer hit a new season high with 41 points in a tough loss to the Nets (117-115). He also ended the night with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. That was the 10th time he reached at least 30 points in a game this season.
March 5, 2008
Carlos Boozer posted strong numbers in Utah's 105-76 win over Minnesota Wednesday night. Boozer scored 16 points with 14 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
March 4, 2008
Carlos Boozer's back isn't 100 percent, but he doesn't intend to sit anytime soon. "It's alright," he said in the Deseret News. "I've got bumps and bruises, and definitely it's a little sore, but (I'm) playing through it." It goes without saying that Boozer should be in your lineup as long as he's standing upright.
March 3, 2008
Carlos Boozer scored 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Utah came from behind to beat Dallas on Monday night. Boozer continues to impress and Utah will be a team to contend with come playoff time in the Wild Wild West.
February 28, 2008
Carlos Boozer had a great game on the surface with 18 points and 15 boards as the Jazz beat the Pistons. However, Boozer turned the ball over six times on the night as he continued a month long trend of turning over the rock including three games in his last five outings where he has turned it over six times.
February 24, 2008
Carlos Boozer, playing through a lower back injury, had 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the Jazz hold defeat Atlanta 100-94 on Saturday night. It was Utah's 14th straight home victory. Boozer matched his season average (21.5 points/10.8 rebounds) with another double-double in the victory.

February 20, 2008
Carlos Boozer missed Wednesday's practice with a sore lower back. The Jazz are still determining his availability for Friday's game, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Boozer has missed just one game all season, and we think there's a good chance he'll be on the floor come Friday night.
February 17, 2008
Carlos Boozer had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the West in the 2007-08 All-Star game. Boozer went 7-for-15 from the field and finished with zero assists, steals, blocks and turnovers.
February 13, 2008
Carlos Boozer scored 22 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and registered 10 assists in Wednesday's 112-93 victory over Seattle. It was Boozer's first triple-double. Boozer, who averages a double-double on the year, does it in just over 35 minutes per game. The fantasy monster is as consistent as they come. If he doesn't score he rebounds, if he doesn't crash the boards he scores -- but usually he does both.
February 9, 2008
Carlos Boozer had another ho hum outing with 22 points and 12 boards for the Jazz. Boozer is averaging 21.8 points and 10.8 boards a game a year after averaging 20.9 and 11.7. Though he has gone for 10 or more boards in five straight, he has failed to score 20 points in three of those games.
