November 18, 2008 LeBron James became the youngest player ever to reach 11,000 points on Tuesday, scoring 31 in a win against the Nets, passing Kobe Bryant. He also had eight rebounds, four assists, and a block in 36 minutes.
Our View:James is quickly adding more and more to his case to become one of the best all-time. He still has MVPs and NBA titles to knock off legends such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
November 18, 2008 LeBron James will think about leaving Cleveland through free agency if another team can give him a better chance to win NBA titles, according to the Associated Press.
Our View:James has two years remaining on his current contract, but also said that the he is happy with how the Cavs are trying to make their team better. If James is more about titles than money then the Cavs lose their biggest advantage. The Cavs will be able to offer James a larger contract than another team because of the Larry Bird rule, which allows a current team to re-sign a player in excess of the salary cap whereas other teams are unable to do so.
