November 8, 2008 The Daily Herald reports that Kirk Hinrich will miss up to three months after an MRI revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament of his right thumb. He left Friday's game against Cleveland in the third quarter with the thumb injury.
Our View:This year, Hinrich has appeared in six games and averaged 8.3 ppg, 4.0 apg, 1.8 rpg and 1.33 spg in 24.5 mpg. He is not worth holding onto for three months and it is safe to drop him.
October 29, 2008 Kirk Hinrich came off of the bench on opening night and played well in his new role. He finished with 15 points and seven assists in 26 minutes.
Our View:Hinrich should still hold some value even coming off the bench. However, he should not be more than a bench selection in drafts.
October 28, 2008 Kirk Hinrich is expected to start the season as a backup behind likely starters Derrick Rose and Thabo Sefolosha, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Our View:Ben Gordon will also come off the bench to start the season. The fantasy value of Hinrich goes down, while the value of Sefolosha goes up, at least until Larry Hughes returns to the mix.
