October 12, 2008 48minutes.net reports that Monta Ellis will eventually have to undergo a second surgery to remove the screws that are currently holding his ligament in place.
Our View:Obviously, the second procedure would require recovery time in addition to the original three months and it is possible that it may be March, April or next season before we see Monta on the court again.
October 11, 2008 The Golden State Warriors have suspended Monta Ellis 30 games without pay for lying about how he injured his ankle, according to the AP.
Our View:The suspension may not really hurt the Warriors that much, because they are counting preseason games - including the four they have already played - and he likely would not be able to play until December anyway. He'll be eligible to return December 17.
September 24, 2008 The San Francisco Chronicle has finally determined that Monta Ellis' ankle injury occurred while he was riding a moped. The source of the injury was orignally lied about.
Our View:Ellis underwent surgery on August 27th and is expected to be sidelined for at least another two months. When healthy, Ellis figures to be a fantasy force in the same role that Baron Davis played last season. He could be back at some point in December.
