April 1, 2008 Cedric Simmons has been recalled to the Bulls from the Iowa Energy of the D-League, according to the Sun Times. He has only played in 11 games this season and holds no fantasy value.
January 2, 2008 Cavs forward Cedric Simmons was sent to the NBA D-League on Wednesday, the AP reported. Simmons has played in just four NBA games this season thanks in part to a sprained ankle.
Our View:Simmons is a former first-round draft pick, but the youngster has been underwhelming in his first season and a half as a pro. He shouldn’t be anywhere near fantasy rosters.
October 11, 2007 Cavs newcomer Cedric Simmons, who suffered a left high-ankle sprain in July, re-injured the ankle during Tuesday’s preseason loss to the Wizards. The Akron Beacon-Journal said Simmons had an MRI exam late Wednesday night, but the results have yet to be reported. With Anderson Varejo still unsigned, losing Simmons for an extended period would thin out Cleveland’s frontcourt considerably.
Our View:A healthy Simmons is a marginal fantasy player as long as Varejao is out, but until we know more about his ankle you should consider him a non-factor.
