Our View:Pecherov, the 18th pick in the 2006 draft, is a 7-footer who appeared in just 35 games last season while seeing action in less than 10 minutes a contest. Obviously, he has nowhere to go but up if he can work his way into the rotation.
July 15, 2008 Olexsiy Pecherov is nursing a sprained left ankle and is expected to miss Wednesday's summer league game against the Sixers, according to the Washington Post.
Our View:He could return for the final three games of the summer league though, and the ailment isn't serious. Pecherov needs to have a big off-season to earn a favorable role with the Wizards this season, which doesn't seem likely.
November 4, 2007 An MRI revealed that Olexsiy Pecherov has a hairline fracture in his right ankle. The injury is expected to sideline him up to six weeks, according to the Washington Post. With Etan Thomas out indefinitely, the rookie had a shot at seeing regular playing time in the frontcourt. He's not likely to do much this season but is worth keeping an eye once he's healthy again.
