Our View:The Mavs need help behind Jason Kidd, but it seems unlikely that is a role that Marbury would like to fill. A number of teams could potentially use him as a starter.
November 14, 2008 Stephon Marbury met with the Knicks' president of basketball operations on Thursday, according to the Associated Press. Both Walsh and Marbury have said they're against a buyout, and Marbury also stated that there was nothing going on several times.
Our View:Will keep you updated on this situation. Marbury won't have any fantasy value unless he's bought out, as he's yet to appear in a game for the Knicks this season.
November 12, 2008 Stephon Marbury noted that he would be interested in playing for the Spurs if the Knicks let him go, according to the NY Post. Marbury said, "Who wouldn't want to play for San Antonio? To play with Tim Duncan, who would complain about that? That's a great organization, they win championships. They have a nice system and I like Gregg Popovich as coach. I can play 1 or the 2. If I was a free agent, yeah."
Our View:Marbury is yet to see any action with the Knicks this season and could help a Spurs' club that lacks depth at point guard after losing Tony Parker for a month due to injury.
