November 19, 2008
Antawn Jamison posted his third straight double-double on Wednesday, scoring 18 points to go with 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Our View:Jamison has been on fire lately. If he can keep it up until they get Gilbert Arenas back, they may have a chance to rally back from this terrible start.
November 18, 2008
Antawn Jamison registered a double-double on Tuesday, ending up with 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assits, and two steals.

Our View:Jamison is still looking like a very solid fantasy option and is has only been held to single figures in scoring once this season. That was on November 8th when he only played 24 minutes.
November 14, 2008
Antawn Jamison did his part for the Wizards on Friday, putting up 15 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist. Unfortunately for the Wizards, few others did as they were routed by the Heat 97-77,

Our View:Jamison sure could use Gilbert Arenas right now, but he's still weeks away. However, Jamison is still worth starting in fantasy leagues.
November 12, 2008
Antawn Jamison had perhaps his best game of the season on Wednesday as the Wizards defeated the Jazz 95-87. He finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, three steals and a block.

Our View:Jamison hit one three in the game giving him six through six games this season. Owners who took him in the first few rounds were certainly expecting more of him.
November 8, 2008
Antawn Jamison scored just seven points in Washington's 81-106 loss to the Magic on Saturday. He added just three rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes of action.

Our View:This game got out of hand early and coach Eddie Jordan simply elected to rest his veteran more while letting the youngsters get some run. Expect Jamison to get back to his 40 minutes per game that he was averaging at the start of the game.
November 7, 2008
Antawn Jamison had another fantastic night for the Wizards Friday, even in a loss. He had a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. He also had two assists and a steal.

Our View:The big contract the Wizards gave Jamison in the offseason seems to be paying off for them and fantasy owners as well.
November 1, 2008
Antawn Jamison scored 24 points in Saturday's 117-109 loss to Detroit, as well as eight boards and two assists.

Our View:Jamison bounced back from a disappointing season opener in which he only scored 14 points and three boards.
October 24, 2008
Antawn Jamison only scored 13 points on Friday night but he still pulled down 11 boards in just 28 minutes of action in the Wizards 107-80 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers.

Our View:All Jamison does is post solid scoring and rebounding totals game after game considering he has never averaged less than 19.6 points or 7.6 boards a game since joining the Wizards four years ago. He isn't a top option because of a lack of assists, but he is mighty fine building block regardless.
October 20, 2008
Forward Antawn Jamison practiced again on Monday, and he expects to be fully ready for the season opener. He is dealing with a sore right knee. "No pain at all. No stiffness or anything like that," Jamison tells the AP. "I feel pretty good."

Our View:Fantasy owners had to be concerned after Jamison injured his knee in the preseason opener, but it sounds like he is recovering very well and is safe to draft.
October 17, 2008
The Washington Post reports that Antawn Jamison practiced on Thursday and is expected to play in Friday's exhibition.

Our View:Jamison suffered a knee strain in the preseason opener so it's a good sign to see him already getting back into games. He is consistently an underrated fantasy performer.
October 14, 2008
Antawn Jamison will sit out Tuesday's preseason game while nursing a strained right knee, according to the Washington Post.

October 10, 2008
Antawn Jamison told the media that he expects to play in the Wizards' season opener on October 29, according to the Washington Post. He is also aiming to play in the final two preseason games. He is recovering from a strained right knee.

October 8, 2008
The AP reports that an MRI on Antawn Jamison's right knee on Wednesday revealed no structural or ligament damage, and the All-Star forward is expected to be back for the start of the regular season. He has been diagnosed with a knee contusion.

Our View:Jamison fell to the floor in visible pain during the team's preseason opener and was helped to the locker room by trainers and teammates. He averaged 21.4 points and a career-high 10.2 rebounds last season while leading the Wizards to the playoffs, earning his second All-Star appearance along the way. He was one of the more productive forwards in fantasy basketball a season ago. His numbers could fall off slightly but he is a good all-around producer.
October 7, 2008
The Washington Post reports that Antawn Jamison went down clutching his right knee in the first quarter of the Wizards' preseason opener against the Mavericks. The knee appeared to buckle as Jamison closed out to defend Dirk Nowitzki. He rolled around on the court in obvious pain while grabbing the knee and had to be helped off to the lockeroom by teammates and trainer Eric Waters. Jamison was putting no pressure on the right leg as he left the floor. A team spokesman at first said the knee was sprained, but later changed the diagnosis to a less serious-sounding strain. Jamison will have an MRI and be evaluated on Wednesday.

Our View:Jamison was re-signed to a big dollar feal this offseason and his absence would certainly hamper the Wizards. He was one of the more productive forwards in fantasy basketball a season ago.
September 27, 2008
The Washington Post reports that Antawn Jamison was pulled from practice after a few drills. He's experiencing some stiffness in his hip. The team is calling it a right hip flexor strain. Antawn said he's going to be fine.

September 23, 2008
The Wizards have picked up the 2009-2010 option on head coach Eddie Jordan's contract, the Washington Post confirms.

Our View:The Wizards have made four straight trips to the playoffs, but they've lost in the first round in each of the last three campaigns. Despite the early exits, Jordan has done a good job. He can't help the fact that two of his three stars routinely run into notable injuries.
June 30, 2008
Antawn Jamison re-signed with the Washington Wizards on Monday, agreeing to a four-year, $50-million deal. "I just signed. We got it out of the way," Jamison told The Associated Press.

Our View:The note reports that with Jamison signing the current deal it clears the way for the team to focus on re-signing three-time All Star Gilbert Arenas. Arenas has said he would not return unless the team also re-signed Jamison.
May 8, 2008
Free agents Antawn Jamison and Gilbert Arenas are both wanted back with the Wizards, according to FoxSports. "Our intent all along has been to have both of those players back and to keep our core together. And at the appropriate time, we'll sit down with both of those parties and see what we can work out," president Ernie Grunfeld said.

Our View:Arenas and Jamison have been teammates for six years dating back to their time with the Warriors. It is important for the team to keep both players happy, but it will be a challenge to bring them both back.
May 4, 2008
The Wizards brass reiterated on Sunday that they plan to re-sign unrestricted free agent Antawn Jamison this offseason, the AP reports. "We've said it all along, from Mr. Pollin to Ernie (Grunfeld) to myself, that it's a priority to sign Gilbert (Arenas) and Antawn," head coach Eddie Jordan says.

Our View:The Wizards will need to break the bank to bring back both Jamison and Gilbert Arenas. Signs point to the front office being willing to make such a commitment, but we'll see what happens when it actually comes time to signing the papers.
April 27, 2008
The Wiz have suffered yet another loss in their NBA playoff series with the Cleveland Cavaliers and now face a daunting 1-3 deficit in the series, but we cannot point the finger at forward Antawn Jamison when the time comes to figure blame for the Wizards' shortcomings. Jamimson shot 8-of-17 from the floor and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line today to score a team-high 23 points, also grabbing the team lead in rebounds with 11.

Our View:Others are contributing points, but none are pushing the pace and cleaning the boards like Jamison. More importantly, the team is struggling in their group effort to slow down King James (a.k.a. LeBron). This was Jamison's best effort against the Cavs thus far in this series, but it was not enough.
April 24, 2008
For the second time in three playoff games Antawn Jamison was held below his season average of 21 points a game as he was held to 5 of 10 shooting, good for 15 points. Jamison also contributed seven boards.

Our View:It's really amazing to see a team win by 36 points yet not have a single player score 20. Still, the club won, and that's what matters, unless you have Jamison in a playoff pool that is.
April 19, 2008
The Washington Wizards took the 86-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of their NBA Playoff series, and Antawn Jamison is going to need to change his approach if the Wiz are going to improve looking forward. The normally-reliable Jamison struggled for accuracy today, shooting just 10-of-24 from the floor and a troubling 1-of-8 from three-point range, scoring 23 points.

Our View:On the bright side, Jamison gathered 19 total rebounds in one of the top efforts for Washington on the day, but the inability to make good on so many offensive opportunities was the difference between a win and a loss.
April 16, 2008
The Washington wizards, in preparation for the playoffs, have held Antawn Jamison , Caron Butler, and Gilbert Arenas out of action tonight as the Wiz face the Orlando Magic.

Our View:The desire to stay healthy and have all hands on deck for the playoffs, especially considering the Wizards' atrocious luck with injuries this season, is understandable and, to some extent, expected.
April 9, 2008

April 7, 2008
Antawn Jamison (shoulder) returned to the court on Monday and appears in line to play on Wednesday against the Celtics, this according to ESPN. "Antawn looked great today," coach Eddie Jordan said. "He did a lot of good things on the floor. He got hit a few times and came out of there pretty clean." Jamison is a double-double machine, so it would be wise to get him back into your lineup for the upcoming game.
April 5, 2008
Antawn Jamison, who missed the Wizards game on Friday because of a sprained right shoulder, is being listed as doubtful to play on Saturday, this according to the Washington Post. March 27, 2008
Antawn Jamison, averaging a team-high 21.6 points, is hurt and/or run down as evidence of his recent performances. The team won't acknowledge such, but Jamison has struggled on back-to-back nights. He scored just nine points on 3-for-13 shooting Tuesday in a 102-82 loss to Portland. He hit 6 of 17 attempts against the Sonics and finished with 17 points. The Wizards (37-34) remained a half-game ahead of Philadelphia for sixth place in the Eastern Conference, but after watching Jamison play on Wednesday something isn't quite right with the veteran forward.
March 23, 2008
Antawn Jamison scored 24 points and recorded 12 rebounds Sunday night as the Washington Wizards defeated the Detroit Pistons, 95-83. Jamison continues to excel with Gilbert Arenas sidelined. His 22 points and 10 rebounds per game make him one of only a few NBA player who average a double-double.

March 17, 2008

February 25, 2008
Antawn Jamison had a double-double on Monday night with 10 points and 10 boards, but he was an awful 3-for-16 from the field. In the 11 previous games Jamison was averaging 22.5 points and 9.8 rebounds a contest, so we will cut him a little slack for this one poor outing.
February 23, 2008
Antawn Jamison scored 22 points assisting the Wizards to a 110-95 over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday. Washington is playing without the injured Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas, offering Jamison more offensive opportunities. February 14, 2008
Antawn Jamison continues to dominate regardless of the Wizards opponent.
