Baron Davis scored just 11 points in the Clippers 83-86 loss to the Spurs on Monday. He shot 5-of-17, including 0-for-8 from three-point range.

Our View:Davis has already begun feuding with his coach and is entirely capable of mailing the rest of this season in. Following his next big game, it may be time to shop him around.
November 15, 2008
Baron Davis was on the wrong end of a battle with his former club on Saturday. The Clippers fell to Goldent State 120-101 with Davis putting up 25 points, 11 assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

Our View:Davis should continue to rack up points and assists, even with as bad as the Clippers are.
November 13, 2008
Baron Davis shot just 4-of-15 to finish with 12 points as the Clippers fell to the visiting Kings 98-103 on Wednesday. He shot 0-for-4 from three-point range and had no steals, but was able to pick up 11 assists.

Our View:Davis has recently expressed his displeasure with coach Mike Dunleavy's rigid offense. Davis has been known to bailout on past teams and coaches. This situation could get ugly.
November 9, 2008
Baron Davis led the Clippers 103-92 victory over the Mavericks with 22 points and 10 assists. Davis also had four rebounds though he was just 3-for-9 on 3-pointers.

Our View:This effort was a second straight 20 point outing after Davis averaged just 9.6 points over his first five games. As long as he is healthy he will produce big numbers, but there is no certainty whatsoever that he will be able to stay healthy long enough to justify his draft day cost.
November 4, 2008
Baron Davis returned for the Clippers and played 32 minutes as they lost to Utah 89-73 on Monday. He finished with 14 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Our View:He shot just 5-for-15 from the field including three treys, and just 1-for-4 from the free throw line. His return was a big relief to his owners as he has already dealt with a finger and hip injury in the young season.
November 2, 2008
The L.A. Times reports that Baron Davis will miss Monday's game against the Jazz at Staples Center due to a sore hip and he could be out longer. "It's probably going to be three or four days and we'll kind of re-evaluate," Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said.

Our View:This is what makes Davis a classic high risk/high reward draft pick He played 82 games last season and was on a lot of fantasy champions. However, he played in 67 or less games in five straight seasons prior to last year's contract year. Aside from the sore hip, Davis also has a badly sprained finger on his left hand.
November 1, 2008
The L.A. Times reports that Baron Davis is not expected to travel to Utah for tonight's game due to an injured hip that he suffered in the second quarter of Friday's game against the Nuggets.

Our View:Davis, who signed a five-year, $65 million contract in the offseason to join the Clippers as a free agent, played in 67 or less games in five straight seasons prior to last year's contract year. The extent of this injury has yet to be determined, but don't be surprised to see a repeat performance this time around. He entered the game with a partially torn ligament in his left ring finger.
October 31, 2008
The AP reports that Baron Davis left Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets with a bruised tailbone. His return is questionable. Davis was injured when he jumped to block a layup by Nuggets guard Dahntay Jones. Davis took the brunt of the contact and came crashing to the floor.

Our View:Davis, who signed a five-year, $65 million contract in the offseason to join the Clippers as a free agent, played in 67 or less games in five straight seasons prior to last year's contract year. Don't be surprised to see a repeat performance this time around. He entered the game with a partially torn ligament in his left ring finger.
October 30, 2008
Clippers point guard Baron Davis shut the doors to the team's locker room and apparently had some harsh words for them after being blitzed by the Lakers, 117-79, according to the L.A. Times.

Our View:Davis played with an injured left ring finger, and contributed 11 points, seven assists and three steals. If he is already upset with his teammates one game into the season, it could be a long year for him.
October 30, 2008
Baron Davis played despite a fractured left ring finger on Wednesday as the Clippers fell 79-117 to the Lakers. He finished with 11 points, seven assists and three steals.

Our View:Davis' scoring figures to be down in a much more disciplined offense this season. He was one of the most dominant fantasy guards in 82 games with the Warriors last season.
October 29, 2008
Clippers guard Baron Davis, who injured his left ring finger in the preseason, participated in practice with the team, and is expecting to play on Wednesday, according to the L.A. Times. "I just want to go out there and see how it feels. Just being able to tolerate pain, that's about it," Davis said.

Our View:Obviously, the injury is not fully healed if he still has pain in the digit. The good news is he shoots right-handed, so he won't be hampered in that regard. Fantasy owners should expect him to play, but probably in a limited fashion.
October 28, 2008
Baron Davis will likely play in Wednesday's opener, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:Have Davis in your lineup Wednesday. His grandmother will be in the crowd, so he'll have extra motivation to play.
October 27, 2008
Baron Davis is expected to be listed as questionable for the Clippers' season opener against the Lakers Wednesday, according to the AP. He has been hindered by a partial tear of a ligament in his left ring finger.

Our View:He participated in some areas of practice Sunday but was kept out of anything involving contact. He missed the Clippers’ last seven preseason games. We will keep you posted on his status heading up to Wednesday.
October 26, 2008
The L.A. Times reports that Baron Davis is still not practicing because of a fractured left ring finger and that the team does not know if he'll be ready to play in the season opener.

Our View:Davis has a long history of missing games due to nagging injuries. Don't let his fantasy friendly 82-game season last year cause you to forget all of his frustrating absences of the past.
October 20, 2008
Guard Baron Davis will not need surgery on his left ring finger and should be ready for the season opener, ESPN.com reports. Davis will wear a brace and is expected to resume all activities in a week. He has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament.

Our View:This is excellent news for the fantasy stud. If this ailment was to Baron's right hand, we'd be much more worried. His shooting may suffer a little bit, but nobody drafts Davis for his field goal percentage.
October 20, 2008
The Clippers fear that Baron Davis could miss 4-6 weeks of action due to a sprained ring finger on his left hand that could require surgery, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Davis is expected to learn how long he will be out and whether he needs surgery during a doctor evaluation on Monday. Davis sprained the ring finger on his left hand at practice last Friday.
October 18, 2008
Clippers guard Baron Davis is suffering from a sprained left ring finger, according to the L.A. Times. He will miss both of the team's preseason games over the weekend before having his digit checked again Monday.

Our View:Davis missed time earlier in the week with the flu, and now his finger is ailing. It's not shocking, but fantasy owners are hoping Davis gets his injuries out of the way in the preseason and starts the season healthy.
October 15, 2008
Baron Davis will miss the Clippers game on Wednesday night as he continues to suffer from the flu, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. Marcus Camby (heel) and Time Thomas (groin) will also miss the contest.

Our View:The Clips will be counting extremely heavily on Davis with the loss of Elton Brand, but given Davis' long track record of spotty health, that would appear to be a suspect position for the club to take.
October 14, 2008
Baron Davis will sit out Tuesday's game while recovering from the flu, according to the LA Times.

Our View:His absence will afford more playing time for promising rookie Mike Taylor.
September 29, 2008
Baron Davis showed up for Clippers' media day 19 pounds lighter than last season according to the L.A. Times thanks to Jenny Craig.

Our View:It's good to see Davis is not getting fat off of his new contract just yet. The point guard's new system in L.A. is vastly different than the one he excelled in with Golden State. His numbers figure to suffer slightly and it will be interesting to see how he works out with all the new faces.
August 29, 2008
After the success of the "Redeem Team" it seems like playing for USA basketball is back en vogue. According to Sporting News Today Baron Davis said that not only did he stay up late to watch and cheer for the USA but he would be "honored" to play for the team in four years.

Our View:Davis who signed a big contract with the Clippers this off-season, will try and build on his stellar numbers from a year ago.
July 10, 2008
According to the AP, Baron Davis has signed a multiyear contract to play for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Our View:On the brink on losing Brand, the Clippers have brought in one of the best all around point guards in the league. Davis averaged 21 pts, 7 assists and 4 rebounds playing for Golden State last year.
July 3, 2008
Baron Davis expects to be playing with Elton Brand next season, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I can't wait to have an opportunity to play with one of the best big men in the game," he said.

Our View:Fantasy owners can't wait either, as pairing the two together would only help both of their games, as neither would feel the pressure of having to do it all themselves.
July 1, 2008
Baron Davis has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Clippers, according to the LA Times. Davis is expected to sign a contract in the five-year, $50 million range. His agent said, "From a basketball standpoint it's always been about winning for Baron. This presented a good opportunity to do that to pair him with Chris Kaman and Elton Brand is expected back."

Our View:He would be leaving the Warriors' run-and-gun offense, but he could still challenge 20 points per game with the Clippers.
July 1, 2008
Baron Davis walked away from $17.8 million when he suddenly decided to opt out of his final year of a contract he signed with the Warriors and is now an unrestricted free agent, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:A bit of a shock as most people believed Davis would play out the final year of his deal looking for a long term contract. Davis could still resign with the Warriors, but given the lateness of this move he clearly won't be a fan favorite if he returns to the city by the bay. The most likely scenario would be the Warriors would resign Davis to a long term deal, or they would do a sign and trade in which they could pick up a nice package. Stay tuned.
June 25, 2008
The Contra Costa Times reports that a source with the Detroit Pistons says that the team is eyeing Baron Davis and would be willing to part with Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups in a trade.

Our View:It is reported theat Davis will choose not to opt out of the final year of his contract but was not happy with the extension offered by the Warriors.
May 23, 2008
Leave? Opt out? No way. Todd Rasmasar, agent for Baron Davis, says his client wants to stay with the Warriors, the Ticker reports. The agent was responding to earlier rumors in Newsday saying Davis was looking into his options and thinking about opting out of the final year of his contract. Davis is due to make $17.8 million in 2008-09.

Our View:Maybe this is just us but walking away from $17.8 million seems like a bad idea, especially when you have a history of notable injuries.
May 23, 2008
Baron Davis is reportedly working to gauge league-wide interest in his services. The point guard can opt out of the final year of his contract this summer. An anonymous source informs Newsday that Davis has looked into the Knicks, amongst other teams. Agent Todd Ramasar previously said Davis would prefer to stay with the Warriors.

Our View:The Warriors probably can't afford to sign Davis, Andris Biedrins, and Monta Ellis all to long-term deals, and it makes some sense that Baron would see the writing on the wall. We'll obviously follow the story once the markets heat up after the postseason.
April 13, 2008
Baron Davis helped keep the Warriors slim playoff hopes alive on Saturday as he scored 25 points with five rebounds and nine assists. Stephen Jackson also scored 28 points in the win.

Our View:Davis has produced his best season since 2001-02 as he has managed to post 22 points and 7.7 assists per game over 79 outings, this after suiting up for less than 70 games in each of the past five seasons.
April 10, 2008

April 9, 2008
Baron Davis got his groove on the court and helped the Golden State Warriors keep pace with the Denver Nuggets in the fight for the final playoff spot in the West, beating the Sacramento Kings in a barn-burning 140-132 basketball marathon. March 25, 2008
Baron Davis scored 27 points, had nine rebounds, dished out seven assists, pocketed four steals and played all 48 minutes on Monday night in the Warriors loss to the Lakers. Davis did just about everything one made could do on Monday, but the bigger news is that he played in his 70th game on the year, the first time he has reached that plateau since 2001-02.
March 22, 2008
Baron Davis scored 27 points, had five rebounds, dished out four assists, made three 3-pointers and turned the ball over five times in a loss to the Rockets on Friday night. The Warriors just didn't have enough on this night though all five of their starters scored at least 15 points.
March 18, 2008
Warriors head coach Don Nelson said an MRI turned up no structural damage on guard Baron Davis' right pinkie finger, this according to the Contra Costa Times. The All Star guard's finger was jammed early in the Warriors' win Saturday against Memphis. Davis practiced Monday with his fingers taped together and will play tonight vs the Kings.
March 14, 2008

March 13, 2008
Once again, Baron Davis comes through for the Warriors and fantasy owners alike, posting a double-double in Golden State's 117-106 win over Toronto. Davis had 23 points with 15 assists. This is par for the course for Davis, at least in terms of scoring. With Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson filling the hole, the assists should become a common occurrence as well.
March 12, 2008
Golden State exercised the option to keep coach Don Nelson, 67, under contract for the 2008-09 season, this according to the Star-Telegram. The Warriors have a 2 1/2 game lead on Denver for the final playoff spot.
March 8, 2008
Baron Davis came through for the Golden State Warriors, leading the way to a 104-95 victory over the Orlando Magic, posting 33 points, 9 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks. Davis is a scoring machine but tonight's performance shows he can bring the whole dinner to town. This is a huge win for the Warriors over a quality team out of the East and Davis got them over the hump.
March 5, 2008
In what is becoming a daily event, Baron Davis posted 30 points in the Warriors' 108-119 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. He added four rebounds and three assists.

February 13, 2008
Baron Davis hit three late shots on his way to 27 points in the Warriors 120-118 victory over the Suns. Davis also dished out 13 assists in yet another all-star caliber performance. It's pure joy to see Davis and Monta Ellis dissect an opponents defense and Wednesday night was another such outing. Whether or not he is an all-star, when healthy, Davis is pure gold in the fantasy game.
February 8, 2008
Golden State guard Baron Davis struggled in Thursday's 114-108 loss to the Bulls. Davis' 8-for-24 outing combined with teammate Stephen Jackson's 6-of-19 performance negated any chance the Warriors has Thursday night. Davis continues to be inconsistent and while he scored 22 points, his poor field goal percentage and his five point outing on February 1st against Charlotte has fantasy owners wondering about his health.
