Mark Stevens, the agent for Ron Artest, told the AP on Saturday that Artest holds out hope he can remain with the Pacers. "At this moment, we're not going to put the buggy before the horse," Stevens said. "We're waiting to hear from (Pacers president) Donnie Walsh, the gentleman and scholar that he is, and hope this can be resolved to where there won't have to be a trade."

Ron Artest has missed the past two games with a sore right wrist, but he took the time Saturday to stir up his first controversy of the year by telling the Indianapolis Star that he wants to be traded away from the Pacers. He specifically dogged his coach, Rick Carlisle. "I like Coach (Carlisle) as a person, but I don't like playing for Coach. I like my team, though," he said. "Don't get it twisted. He's a very good coach. He knows what he's doing. I personally don't like playing for him. I would not want to see him get fired for me after all the immaturity I've been through with this organization."
