Clippers GM Elgin Baylor said that there's no longer a Ron Artest trade in the works, according to the L.A. Times. "As far as anything goes with Ron Artest, that's a dead issue," Baylor said. "We're no longer talking to Sacramento about Artest … that's not going to happen."

Ron Artest has let it be known that he does not want to play for the Kings, thus nullifying a trade for Peja Stojakovic, ESPN reported Tuesday night. While the trade was awaiting league approval, ESPN reported that Artest told the Kings he did not want to play for them. As a result, the Kings have backed out of the trade, at least temporarily.

The Pacers are getting closer to a trade involving Ron Artest, according to the Indianapolis Star. Team president Larry Bird has said that the Pacers are talking to "five, maybe six" teams. "I can't say we're in love with all the deals, but they're getting better," Bird said. "Last week was a pretty good week. The offers improved. There's some teams that want no part of him, and others who say, 'This is the guy we need to get over the hump.'"
