Josh Howard, G Wednesday 11/19, 6:54 PM CT
Josh Howard is out for Wednesday's game with an injured ankle, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Howard has played well for the Mavs this year, even when the team hasn't been very good.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Wednesday 11/19, 9:43 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs to their third straight win on Wednesday, scoring 24 points to go with 12 rebounds and three assists.

Our View: Nowitzki has really picked it up as of late, which is probably why Dallas has won their last three.
Jason Terry, G Wednesday 11/19, 9:44 PM CT
Jason Terry gave the Mavs a huge bench effort on Wednesday, scoring 31 points. He also added four assists, three steals, and two rebounds in 34 minutes.

Our View: Outbursts like this will help lead the struggling Mavs back, but they still need more consistency.
Jerry Stackhouse, G Tuesday 11/18, 5:50 PM CT
Mark Cuban said that he has not intention to buy out the contract of Jerry Stackhouse, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Stackhouse doesn't have any fantasy value.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Tuesday 11/18, 8:26 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki had a monster game for the Mavs to help Dallas win their second straight. He scored 32 points, shooting 10-of-21 from the field and also added nine rebounds, two asists, and a block.

Our View: If Nowitzki keeps scoring like this, the Mavs could be back to .500 in no time.
Jason Kidd, G Tuesday 11/18, 8:29 PM CT
Jason Kidd had more turnovers than points in Tuesday's win over the Bobcats. He gave it up six times while just scoring two points. He did finish with 10 assists, five rebounds, a steal, and a block.

Our View: The trade for Kidd is looking like a phenomenal bust at this point. He can still be productive in fantasy, he just isn't what he used to be.
Jerry Stackhouse, G Monday 11/17, 10:03 AM CT
Jerry Stackhouse was made inactive for the team's game against New York on Sunday, but the Mavericks say he is healthy and that the matchup simply didn't suit him, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Stackhouse declined comment on the situation after the game. He should not be an option for fantasy owners this season, as when he does play, he gets less than 20 minutes per game and scores about five points with less than two rebounds.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Monday 11/17, 11:13 AM CT
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been charged with insider trading by the Securities and Exchange Commission in regards to selling 600,000 shares of stock in 2004 in order to avoid a loss of nearly $750,000, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Cuban got information saying a company called Mamma.com would be selling their shares under market value, so he sold his to avoid losing money. It is illegal to use information that is not available to the public when selling stock. The charge has come in the form of a lawsuit that wants Cuban to forfeit the money he would have lost and also pay an additional penalty, so it is unclear if he could potentially receive time in prison (a la Martha Stewart).
Jerry Stackhouse, G Monday 11/17, 4:34 PM CT
The Dallas Morning News reports that Jerry Stackhouse and his agent are exploring options for a possible departure from the Mavericks, including a buyout and trade scenarios that might make sense.

Our View: Stackhouse was inactive for Sunday's game despite being healthy. He has averaged just 17.8 minutes in the games he has appeared in. The Mavericks have a lot of talent at his position and Stackhouse's fantasy value would spike if he were wind up with a team that used him more regularly.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Sunday 11/16, 7:44 PM CT
Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki scored 39 points, collected 15 rebounds and dished out four assists as Dallas broke a five-game losing streak to beat the Knicks in overtime, 124-114.

Our View: Nowitzki's rebounding total was a season-high, and more than double his season-average of 7.0. He also had a season-high 12 free throw attempts, and he made them all.
Josh Howard, G Sunday 11/16, 7:51 PM CT
Josh Howard was huge for the Mavericks in their 124-114 overtime win against New York, piling up 31 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.

Our View: The double-double was the third in Howard's last five games. Had he pulled down one more rebound on Friday, he would have had four in that time.
Josh Howard, G Friday 11/14, 11:03 PM CT
Josh Howard fell just one rebound shy of his second straight double-double. He ended up with 25 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.

Our View: Howard has been a very consistent source of points and rebounds this season.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Friday 11/14, 11:07 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki has had his struggles this season, but not on Friday. He went 10-for-18 from the field while also making his only attempt from beyond the arc to score 24 in the Mavs' loss. He also had six points, an assists, and a steal.

Our View: Dallas is off to a rough start at 2-7, and will need to get more performances like this out of Nowitzki.
Erick Dampier, C Thursday 11/13, 10:19 PM CT
Erick Dampier hit the boards hard on Thursday, coming down with 18 rebounds for the Mavs in a 98-91 loss in Chicago. He also scored 16 points, had three blocks, an assist, and a steal in just 30 minutes of playing time.

Our View: If Dampier continues to play like this, his playing time will have to increase. Dallas is off to a rough start and they need guys in there that can change the game for them like Dampier is currently.
Josh Howard, G Thursday 11/13, 10:24 PM CT
Josh Howard had a double-double for Dallas on Thursday, scoring 21 points to go with 11 rebounds.

Our View: Howard's fantasy stock is remaining consistent as he contributes points and rebounds for fantasy owners nearly every night.
Josh Howard, G Wednesday 11/12, 6:44 PM CT
Josh Howard (wrist) travelled with the Mavericks to Chicago according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: He is fighting a sprained left wrist that has kept him out of the last two games. There is still no word on whether or not he will play in Thursday's game.
Josh Howard, G Tuesday 11/11, 12:49 PM CT
Josh Howard is unlikely to play against the Lakers tonight due to his sprained wrist, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: His non-shooting hand is injured, and the Mavericks are optimistic he won't miss significant time. He shall remain reserved on fantasy rosters.
Josh Howard, G Tuesday 11/11, 8:17 PM CT
Mavericks forward Josh Howard missed a second straight game Tuesday night with a wrist injury, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: The injury is on his non shooting hand and the Mavericks don't expect Howard to be out for too long.
Jason Kidd, G Tuesday 11/11, 10:41 PM CT
Jason Kidd and the Mavericks lost to the Lakers on Tuesday night 106-99 but the veteran guard notched a triple-double. Kidd scored 16 points, dished out 10 assists and had 11 boards.

Our View: Kidd may not score the high point totals but still can achieve a triple-double at any time.
Josh Howard, G Sunday 11/9, 2:44 PM CT
Josh Howard will be out of Sunday's lineup with a wrist injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Keep a close eye on Howard, as his status could be uncertain for at least the rest of the week.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Sunday 11/9, 5:37 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki scored 33 points, pulled down seven boards, and handed out three assists in the Mavericks 103-92 loss to the Clippers.

Our View: Dirk hit only 1-of-7 3-pointers on the afternoon, but he was the clubs only source of offense on the day as no other player had more than 13 points.
Jason Terry, G Sunday 11/9, 5:42 PM CT
Jason Terry had a tough outing on Sunday as he scored only eight points thanks to a terrible effort from the field (3-for-15).

Our View: Terry had scored 49 points in his last two outings, so today's effort was clearly disappointing. The Mavs clearly need Terry's offense, so don't look for him to stop shooting merely because he is struggling to put the ball in the basket.
Josh Howard, G Saturday 11/8, 9:33 AM CT
Mavericks forward Josh Howard has been dealing with a wrist injury, and he aggravated in on Friday, limiting his minutes towards the end of the game, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: There is no word on if the malady will keep Howard out of the Mavs' lineup, but it does not sound too serious. Howard has been playing well and giving fantasy owners some quality numbers, with averages of 17.0 points, 7.2 boards and 2.0 assists per game.
Jason Terry, G Friday 11/7, 3:24 PM CT
Jason Terry will make another start for Dallas Friday night, according to the Dallas Morning News. Coach Rick Carlisle said, "We'll roll with it tonight. It's where we are. It helps our rotation when JT is starting."

Our View: He scored 29 points in his previous start against San Antonio, and could remain a starter if he continues to perform well. His fantasy stock looks to once again be on the rise.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Tuesday 11/4, 10:15 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki was coming off an eight point game on Monday and on Tuesday, he did not have another tough night. He scored 30 points in the Mavericks' 98-81 win over the Spurs.

Our View: Nowitzki was a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arc and is now 5-of-7 on the year. Dirk is averaging over 20 points a game and continues to lead the Mavericks.
Jason Terry, G Tuesday 11/4, 10:23 PM CT
Guard Jason Terry scored 29 points in the Mavericks' 98-81 win over the Spurs.

Our View: Terry is now averaging 17 points a game this year and the Mavericks look to get more out of their guard.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Monday 11/3, 10:34 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki was held to eight points and six rebounds in 32 minutes as the Mavericks fell 81-100 to the Cavaliers on Monday.

Our View: The Cavs have a variety of quality defenders to throw at the other team's star and it's clear they had a quality gameplan for Dirk tonight. He had averaged 28.5 points in his first two games of the season.
Jerry Stackhouse, G Monday 11/3, 11:18 PM CT
The AP reports that Jerry Stackhouse did not play on Monday because he is battling a foot problem. The Mavs lost 81-100.

Our View: Stack started last game for the Mavs. The extent of his injury is not yet known.
Jason Kidd, G Sunday 11/2, 7:46 AM CT
The New York Knicks apparently made a play for Dallas point guard Jason Kidd, and offered up Stephon Marbury, according to the New York Post.

Our View: We're not sure in what world that would be considered a fair deal for Kidd, and it would take a whole lot more than that to pry him away from Dallas.
Antoine Wright, G Sunday 11/2, 6:05 PM CT
Antoine Wright, who started Dallas' first game, did not play in their 95-85 win over Minnesota.

Our View: Jerry Stackhouse started and was backed up by Jason Terry and Gerald Green. Wright's minimal fantasy value is now negligible.
Dirk Nowitzki, F Saturday 11/1, 10:19 PM CT
Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 21 points in Saturday's 95-85 win over Minnesota. He also chipped in six boards.

Our View: It was a quiet night by Nowitzki's standards, but fantasy owners can't really complain, as he topped at least twenty points.
