Pistons keep Herrmann Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Pistons re-signed forward
Walter Herrmann on Monday.
The 29-year-old came to the Pistons in December of 2007 with Primoz Brezec in
a trade that sent Nazr Mohammed to the Charlotte Bobcats.
"We are pleased to re-sign Walter Herrmann," said president of basketball
operations Joe Dumars. "Walter is a player with tremendous work ethic and
showed last year that he is a player that can contribute to this team."
Last season in 45 games with the Pistons and Bobcats, Herrmann averaged 3.4
points and 1.6 rebounds.More...
Guard Chauncey Billups sprained his right ankle during Saturday's preseason win over the Bucks. The injury is not considered to be serious, MLive.com reports.
Our View:We'll follow up on Chauncey's status when more is known. His ailment could open up minutes for Rodney Stuckey, whom we're led to believe is the greatest thing to hit Motown since Smokey Robinson.
Guard Arron Afflalo led the Pistons with 28 points in Saturday's preseason win over the Bucks. He hit 10-of-12 shots from the floor (including two threes) and sunk 6-of-7 at the line. Afflalo added two rebounds, two assists, and two steals over 25 minutes.
Our View:It looks like the Bucks defense is already in midseason form. Afflalo could see increased minutes this season, but he won't have any fantasy value unless an injury takes out Rip Hamilton.
Rasheed Wallace led the Pistons with a mere 12 points in Friday's 71-60 preseason win over the Wizards. He also notched five boards and a block. He played exactly 24 minutes.
Our View:Wallace should remain productive with the Pistons this season, and is a solid value pick for the later rounds of the fantasy draft.
