Our View:He was brought back as he has recovered from the torn triceps injury that sidelined him during the preseason. Other teams garnered interest, but Thomas wanted to stay where he felt comfortable.
September 11, 2008 Hollis Thomas has reached an injury settlement with the Saints and has been released, according to the AP.
Our View:The club was going to place Thomas, who underwent surgery to repair a torn triceps, on IR. That would have ended Thomas’ season, but kept him under contract in 2009. Thomas instead agreed to an undisclosed payment to get his release, a deal which could allow him to sign with any NFL club this season.
September 9, 2008 Early reports said that Hollis Thomas would miss only two months with a triceps injury but according to Profootballtalk.com the Saints have placed Thomas on the IR which would end his season.
Our View:With the move to the IR, Thomas will miss the whole 2008 season.
August 14, 2008 Hollis Thomas will miss a minimum of two months due to a torn triceps muscle, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Thomas suffered the injury during 1-on-1 pass-rushing drills on Wednesday, and he had surgery on Thursday morning.
Our View:There is a strong chance that Thomas could be placed on the IR at some point, ending his 2008 season. Thomas was working for a backup role at defensive tackle.

"As long as I still have the passion, I'll keep playing. I'm not going to kid myself. I'll play each year one year at a time, come out and try to play my best. At the end of it, if I don't feel like going back to work out at the end of the season, then that's when I'll know I'm not supposed to be here anymore."
