If the Broncos release Brian Griese in a salary-cap move after this season, it likely won't happen until after June 1, according to the Denver Post. Doing so would save the Broncos $2.45 million against the salary cap next season, but would leave him on their books for $6.9 million in 2004. Broncos coach Mike Shanahan declared Griese healthy enough yesterday to back up starter Steve Beuerlein on Sunday.
