The injury that knocked Brian Griese out of Sunday's game was to his shoulder, according to the AP. Griese was replaced by Rex Grossman, who fumbled the first snap from his center, but he ended up leading the Bears to a come-from-behind win over the Raiders. Grossman was 7-for-14 for 142 yards and a touchdown and may stick as the starter, regardless of Griese's health.

The Bears will stick with Brian Griese at quarterback despite his poor play at Detroit Sunday, the AP reports. Griese finished the day 34-for-52 for 286 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions. This is a good example of how a decent fantasy day (Griese scored well for any league that doesn't tax turnovers) doesn't always equate to an effective game in real life. The Bears stay in the division the next two weeks, playing Green Bay and Minnesota.

The Bears have a new starting quarterback. Brian Griese will be under center when they face the Lions on Sunday, according to NFL.com. He will replace Rex Grossman, who has thrown one touchdown pass and six interceptions in three games this season. Griese tossed 20 touchdown passes in 11 games for the Buccaneers back in 2004. his move should not surprise anyone. Head coach Lovie Smith passed on an opportunity to defend Grossman after the game and again on Monday. Griese had a solid preseason, but he hasn't appeared in a meaningful game since 2004. Nevertheless, he has some quality tools to work with and he should garner some attention from fantasy owners who need help at the quarterback position.
