"I try to be smart in preserving my arm, so I had our trainer call the trainers for (Dan) Marino and (John) Elway and Favre to see what you do after 32 because it's kind of uncharted territory," Manning said.
Our View:We would bet that Manning will still throw for 3,700-yards and at least 26 TDs as he has done in each of the past 10 seasons even if he tosses a few less passes in the off-season.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said during the NFL meetings that he expected the full regular-season slate to be announced in the next two weeks.

March 26, 2008 The Indianapolis Colts have ensured continuity in the front office for the foreseeable future by signing President Bill Polian to an extension, according to the Indianapolis Star. Owner Jim Irsay said the extension was finalized several months ago and is for another three or four years. "I see him here hopefully for a long time, but certainly through 2011 or whatever it is,'' Irsay said. Polian, 65, has been the primary architect of the Colts' long run of success. Since Irsay hired him prior to the 1998 season to oversee all on-field operations, the franchise has developed into one of the NFL's most successful. The Colts have posted a 105-55 regular-season record over the past 10 seasons, reached the playoffs eight times and won the Super Bowl after the 2006 season.
