October 2, 2007 Defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday suffered a fracture in his right ankle during Sunday's loss to the Raiders and could miss as many as two games. "He has had that injury before, and he said he is very positive that it will not be a long-term thing, but we'll keep you posted on that," coach Cam Cameron told the Miami Herald. "He has been casted with a slight fracture." Holliday's loss will be felt on a defense that already ranks dead last in the NFL against the run.
February 21, 2007 The Dolphins re-signed Vonnie Holliday to a four-year contract on Wednesday, according to the Sports Ticker. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"I'm happy we were able to sign Vonnie to this new contract," new Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said. "Not only has he been a major part of one of the league's top defensive units the last two years, but he also has been one of the key veteran leaders in the locker room." Holliday has registered 122 tackles and 12 sacks over the last two seasons.
