August 8, 2008 Ephraim Salaam underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage damage in his left knee Friday and is expected to be out three to four weeks, according to the Houston Chronicle. Coach Gary Kubiak said, "Ephraim got up Thursday morning and felt something under his kneecap. He got an MRI, and they did the scope after it. We expect him to be back for the start of the season."
Our View:He was competing with first-round pick Duane Brown for the starting job at left tackle. The team feels Brown's athleticism will fit their blocking system well.
