Newsbreakers
June 1, 2008
Mike Vanderjagt has signed a deal with the Toronto Argonauts, ESPN.com reports. The kicker formerly worked for the Argonauts in 1996 and 1997, and the club won the Grey Cup in both seasons.

Our View:NFL teams haven't shown much interest in this 38-year-old kicker since his rough 2006 season in Dallas. We thought Vandy might show up in a training camp this summer, but we guess that's not the case.
April 14, 2008
Free agent Mike Vanderjagt is reportedly on the Broncos' radar, according to the Denver Post. The team will bring him in for a workout, and he would compete with Matt Prater for the starting kicking job (if signed), left open by the departure of Jason Elam to Atlanta.

Our View:Vanderjagt would benefit from a fresh start in Denver, if signed, and he remains the most accurate field goal kicker in the history of the NFL as he made 86.5% of his attempts (230-of-266).
November 27, 2006
The Cowboys released Mike Vanderjagt on Monday, according to the Sports Network. He hit just 13-of-18 field goals for a career-low 72.2 percent conversion rate this year. Martin Gramatica will replace Vanderjagt as the Cowboys kicker.
November 20, 2006
The Cowboys won't be making an immediate change at kicker, even though Mike Vanderjagt missed two field goals in Sunday's win over the Colts, the Dallas Morning News reports. Vanderjagt is just 12-for-17 on field goals this season; the missed against Indianapolis came from 43 and 46 yards. Bill Parcells said Vanderjagt has earned "the benefit of the doubt," but the head coach also said he wouldn't hesitate to look elsewhere if Vanderjagt continues to struggle.
October 1, 2006
Shaun Suisham did not travel with the Cowboys for today's game, according to the Star-Telegram. That means that Mike Vanderjagt will handle all of the kicking duties for the Cowboys against the Titans.
