November 2, 2008
David Akers had a big day for the Eagles, making four field goals from distances of 24, 39, 39, and 42 in addition to two extra points.

Our View:Akers has been consistent on short attempts this year, and kept it up in Seattle.
October 6, 2008
David Akers is having issues from long-range as he has missed nine straight field goal attempts from 45 or more yards, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Coach Andy Reid still has faith in the veteran kicker, though. Reid stated, "David's going to make a lot more of those than he's going to miss. Down the stretch here, he'll be fine."

Our View:It remains to be determined why Akers is missing his longer attempts, which have all sailed to the right. He will remain the Eagles' kicker for the time being, but fantasy owners should have a solid backup for insurance.
September 30, 2008
Eagles coach Andy Reid says kicker David Akers' job is not in jeopardy and he still has confidence in him, despite Akers' two misses Sunday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "He needs to make those kicks, but I do feel that way ... I think the leg strength [is still there]. You can see it on his kickoffs. He's kicking the ball off as well as he ever has."

Our View:Akers' misses on Sunday were his first two misses of the season. He has made 8-of-10 field goals, and 12-of-12 extra points, and is a solid option for fantasy owners in the least important position.
September 21, 2007
David Akers is battling a sore quad, though the Eagles reported him as having a full practice Thursday, according to the team's official site.
January 5, 2007
David Akers will be reunited with Koy Detmer, his old holder, when the playoffs get under way this weekend. The Eagles felt that punter Dirk Johnson, who held on placement kicks during the regular season, may have been partially responsible for Akers's shaky year.
