The Texans beat the Browns Sunday, but kicker Kris Brown had a tough outing, according to the Houston Chronicle. His streak of 15 consecutive field goal conversions was snapped when an attempt was blocked by nose tackle Shaun Rogers. He also later missed wide-right on a 55-yard attempt.

Our View:He did make two field goals in the game, but the longest was only 36 yards. He is still among the most reliable kickers in the league, and is safe to consider for Week 13 at home against Jacksonville.

Kris Brown will be playing in his 100th game this weekend, according to the Houston Chronicle. He said, "I think those types of things are irrelevant. You don’t really think about that stuff. You just get here and focus on what you have to do week in and week out."

Our View:He has played in every game in franchise history, and has made 78 percent of his career field goal attempts, with a long of 57. He is a perfect 5-for-5 so far in 2008.

Kris Brown hit a 25-yard field goal with no time remaining to lead the Texans to a 19-16 win over the Broncos in preseason action, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:Brown is a solid clutch kicker, and has a strong leg as he nailed all five attempts from 50+ yards in 2007. He is off to a solid start in the preseason, and should remain a good value pick at the position.

Kris Brown had a monster performance for a fantasy kicker on Sunday, knocking in five field goals. Brown had been bothered by soreness in the heel of his plant foot and aggravated the injury on the opening kickoff. He needed a painkilling shot at halftime to deal with the injury, according to the Houston Chronicle. Brown ended up hitting three field goals over 50 yards, including a 57-yard game-winner, as well as a 43-yarder and a 20-yarder. You'll want to check on his condition as we get closer to the Texans next game against the Jags.

The Texans signed Kris Brown to a five-year contract worth $8 million on Tuesday that includes a $2 million signing bonus, according to the Houston Chronicle.
