David Boston, who recently signed a deal with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, is going to be out 10-12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture on his foot, according to TSN.ca.

Our View:So much for Boston taking advantage of a fresh start in Canada.

The Toronto Argonauts have signed ex-NFL wide receiver David Boston, according to TSN.

Our View:Seven words: The Argonauts receiver corps must really stink.

David Boston, who was arrested in August on a drunken driving charge, pleaded no contest this morning to a lesser charge of reckless driving, according to the Tampa Tribune. County Judge William Overton sentenced him to six months' probation and ordered him to attend DUI school. Boston also was ordered to serve 50 hours of community service and pay $615 in investigative costs and a $500 fine. Once Boston fulfills his financial obligations and attends DUI school, he will have the right to buy out of his 50 hours of community service. He also will have the right to ask for early termination of his probation. He did not comment.

Our View:Boston won't likely hold any fantasy value in 2008.

The Buccaneers released troubled wide receiver David Boston on Wednesday just six days after he was charged with DUI, according to the St. Petersburg Times. The team signed wide receiver and kick return specialist Mark Jones to fill Boston’s spot on the roster.

Our View:One can only assume that this is it for Boston. He’s battled injuries and steroid issues in the past, so it’s hard to imagine any team willing to take on his baggage.

Head coach Jon Gruden said Monday that David Boston is probable for Week 2 with a foot injury, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Boston suffered the injury during pre-game warm-ups on Sunday.

Our View:Boston has bigger problems than his sprained foot. He tested positive for GHB after falling asleep at the wheel of his car, which was still in drive at the time. He’s been suspended before by the league, so don’t be surprised if the commissioner comes down hard on the troubled wide receiver.
