The Broncos need to upgrade at linebacker and impending free agent Mike Peterson was listed among their options by the Denver Post.

Our View:Peterson is capable of solid production, but fell out of favor with coach Jack Del Rio and the Jaguars, and could benefit from a fresh start with Denver.
December 26, 2008
Linebacker Mike Peterson will most likely depart via free agency this offseason, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View:Peterson has had a pretty good career, but his tackles fell to 72 (62 solo) this season. He has been an important part to the Jaguars past offensive success.
December 15, 2008
The Orlando Sentinel reports that linebacker Mike Peterson will regain his starter role this week as his replacement, Daryl Smith, suffered what might be a season-ending groin injury against the Packers.

Our View:Peterson will likely be playing with a chip on his shoulder in the remaining Jaguars' games.
November 14, 2008
Mike Peterson has been unseated by Daryl Smith as the Jaguars' starting middle linebacker, according to ESPN.

Our View:Peterson is the Jaguars' leading tackler (49), but fell out of favor with coach Jack Del Rio for challenging him in a meeting, which led to his demotion. Justin Durant will move to the weakside with Clint Ingram roaming the strongside.
November 12, 2008
Mike Peterson was back on the field in his familiar spot in the middle of Jacksonville's defense Wednesday. He's unsure how long he will remain there though, according to the AP. Peterson believes the Jaguars are ready to move in another direction. "The season's not going well, older guy, move him out of the way and get ready for next year," Peterson said. "I guess that's the way it is. That's the way I'm taking it."

Our View:Head coach Jack Del Rio did not have a comment on the situation after practice and as of right now, Peterson will be on the field this weekend.
