November 11, 2008
The Steelers signed veteran cornerback Fernando Bryant to a one-year contract, according to Scout.com. Financial terms were not disclosed. The team released linebacker Donovan Woods to make room on the roster.

Our View:Bryant was added to provide depth at cornerback as they have been thinned out by injuries, but he won't likely merit fantasy attention for IDP leagues.
September 4, 2008
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick requires cornerbacks who will display toughness and willingness to tackle, something that Fernando Bryant did not do, which is why the team cut him, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Bryant is a solid corner with good cover skills, so his release is seen as a message to other players to play physical.
September 2, 2008
The St. Louis Rams have brought in corners Fernando Bryant and Hank Poteat for visits, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:The Rams need help in the defensive backfield, and both players should be able to contribute. The team signed Ricky Manning Jr. on Monday.
August 30, 2008
Fernando Bryant has been released by the Patriots, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:This is a surprising move, as he was competing for a starting job at cornerback opposite Ellis Hobbs.
April 29, 2008
Fernando Bryant will be the likely starter opposite Ellis Hobbs this season, according to the Boston Herald. He will be challenged by Jason Webster, but Webster is more likely to serve as depth on the bench.

Our View:Bryant would hold some fantasy value as a starter in New England, but will not make an impact like Asante Samuel did. Samuel left town for Philadelphia.
