Our View:He will see time at outside linebacker and defensive end in the Cardinals' 3-4 defense this season, and should make a solid impact, but may not rack up enough tackles to draft any higher than a backup.

Our View:Okeafor is a valuable member of the Cardinals' defense, as he has the versatility to play at defense end, as well as outside linebacker.

August 15, 2007 The Cardinals defense took a hit Wednesday when it was announced Chike Okeafor underwent surgery to repair a torn biceps. The East Valley Tribune reports the surgery was performed on Tuesday and was a success. Okeafor’s recovery time is four months, but he is expected to miss the entire season because the team will likely be forced to place him on IR to save a roster spot.

The East Valley Tribune reports that he is expected to seek a second opinion before deciding on surgery that would end his season before it began. Okeafor, who was playing outside linebacker as the Cardinals try to move to a 3-4 scheme, will likely be replaced in the lineup by Darryl Blackstock.
