Rosevelt Colvin has been signed by the Texans, according to the HoustonTexans.com. Financial terms and the length of the deal were not disclosed. Colvin said, "I think just the opportunity to come to a new team, a fresh start, something different is exciting to me. That’s sort of icing on the cake with the young guys that they have that they’ve been able to develop the last couple of years on the defensive side of the ball."

Our View:Colvin passed his physical in Houston, and the Texans believe the healthy 30-year-old will excel in their defensive scheme as an edge rusher that can complement defensive end Mario Williams, who broke out with 14 sacks in 2007. The team may not use Colvin as an every-down linebacker. instead, he could be used as a situational rusher on passing downs. Colvin has 52.5 sacks over his nine years of NFL service so far, with four coming with New England in 2007.
