Chris McAlister wanted to continue to fight through his knee injury, but the doctors told him he could have jeopardized his career by playing, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The elite cornerback will have to undergo five months of rehab on his knee after he undergoes surgery. The Ravens were interested in signing DeAngelo Hall, but finished second in the running behind Washington.

Chris McAlister is slated to undergo season-ending knee surgery, according to the Baltimore Sun. Coach John Harbaugh said, "He expressed to me that he felt like it was in his best interest. The knee is a problem. It’s a problem because of the position he plays. It just wears the knee down. So, he has to get that corrected."

Our View:The elite cornerback is a tough loss for the Ravens' secondary. The Ravens were considering signing DeAngelo Hall before he joined the Redskins.

Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister has gone north of the border to Canada to seek a second opinion on his injured knee, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The opinion he will get from Canada is the third he has received. So far in 2008 McAlister has recorded 16 tackles and three interceptions

Chris McAlister missed the trip to Cleveland and is awaiting the diagnosis on his injured knee, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:McAlister will see another doctor Monday before the team makes any determination about possibly having season-ending surgery. He holds marginal fantasy value in IDP leagues, but is an elite NFL cornerback and would be a tough loss for the Ravens' secondary if surgery is needed.

Ravens cornerback Chris McAlister got a second opinion on his injured knee, and it may require surgery that will keep him out the rest of the season, according to the Baltimore Sun. "It's really between the doctors and Chris to make a decision about what's best for Chris going forward this year and for the rest of his career," Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said.

Our View:McAlister has not played in two weeks, and his loss would obviously be a blow to the team. The Ravens D/ST unit remains a fantasy stalwart, however, as they are first in the league in run defense, and third in pass defense.
