Our View:It sounds like Finneran will be okay for Week 9, but he has no fantasy value either way.
September 26, 2008 Brian Finneran expects to handle a larger role with Laurent Robinson on the shelf with a sprained left knee, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He said, "With Laurent down, all of us have to step up a little bit. I’ll have a few more opportunities, I hope. Get a chance to get in there and make a few more plays, I hope."
Our View:He is not a recommended fantasy option as he is yet to register a catch this season while working mostly on special teams, and the Panthers' pass defense is ranked 13th.
May 11, 2008 Wide receiver Brian Finneran went through most of the drills in Saturday's mini-camp practices. He is wearing a big brace on his surgically repaired right knee. Finneran has missed the last two seasons after tearing his ACL twice. "There were days when you question yourself and wonder what the heck you're doing," he tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I want to be out there and be productive for one more season — at least. It would mean everything, unbelievable to get back. I know it's a long shot."
Our View:Finneran doesn't have any fantasy value, but he's a guy to cheer for. It would be a nice story if he was able to recover from two serious knee operations.
