Newsbreakers
December 28, 2008
Running back Jamal Lewis rushed 23 times for 94 yards in the Week 17 loss to the Steelers. He finished the season with 1,002 rushing yards. It was his third straight 1,000-yard campaign and seventh such season of his career.

Our View:Lewis turns 30 next August, and the Browns are expected to clean out their front office and coaching staff this offseason. We'd be surprised if he doesn't have a young running mate heading into 2009.
December 17, 2008
The Cleveland Browns are on a staggering streak, according to the News-Herald (OH). They have not scored an offensive touchdown in 46 straight possessions covering more than four games.

Our View:It has now been a full calendar month since the Browns last scored, which was on Nov. 17. We realize they are without either of their top two quarterbacks, but this is a team that still has some offensive talent. If they are going to cross the goal-line at all the rest of this season, they have as good a chance as any against the Bengals this week. Cincy gives up nearly 26 points per contest. But after that, Cleveland plays Pittsburgh, who has the best defense in the NFL.
December 15, 2008
Jamal Lewis managed only 32 yards on 14 carries as the Browns fell 10-30 to the Eagles on Monday.

Our View:The Eagles were able to stack the line against Lewis and he was unable to produce. Look for Lewis to endure similar struggles as long as Ken Dorsey is taking the snaps.
December 3, 2008
The Sporting News Today reports that the Tennessee Titans have been tough on running back Jamal Lewis throughout his career, and in his last three games against the Titans, Lewis has averaged just 2.2 yards per carry.

Our View:Lewis and the Browns face off against the Titans this week, and with Ken Dorsey under center, the Browns will surely turn to Lewis. Tennessee is 12th against the run this season, and Lewis' history against the team does not necessarily bode well for fantasy owners.
November 30, 2008
Jamal Lewis lugged the rock 24 times for 77 yards in the Week 13 loss to Indianapolis.

Our View:Lewis has compiled 77 or fewer rushing yards in each of the last five weeks with one touchdown during this time frame. The Browns face the Titans' and Eagles' run defenses in the next two weeks, respectively, making Lewis a very weak prospect going forward into the fantasy playoffs.
