The New York Giants placed running back Reuben Droughns on injured reserve with a neck malady, according to the Sporting News Today.

Our View:Droughns was replaced on the roster when the team signed wideout Derek Hagan. Droughns was mostly a special teams player who did not have one run or reception on the year.

Giants inactive players: OT Adam Koets, RB Danny Ware, LB Gerris Wilkinson, FS James Butler, DL Jerome McDougle, CB Kevin Dockery, WR Mario Manningham, RB Reuben Droughns

Our View:Nobody has any fantasy value for the Giants.

For the Giants game with the Redskins on Thursday night, the following New York players are inactive: Lawrence Tynes, Reuben Droughns , Terrell Thomas, Sam Madison, Jonathan Goff, Adam Koets, Dave Tollefson, and Mario Manningham, according to Giants.com

Our View:With Droughns on the sidelines, that could mean Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw could have a chance at some additional touches.

NFL teams will be trimming rosters today as most cut approximately 20 players to get down to final regular-season rosters, and for the Giants' offense it seems both Reuben Droughns and Sinorice Moss are firmly planted on the bubble, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Moss could be retained but has failed to emerge as a definitive contributor. The 30-year-old Droughns (12 carries, 40 yards this preseason) faces the same numbers problem. He is fourth on the depth chart behind Brandon Jacobs (18-109), Derrick Ward (15-84) and Ahmad Bradshaw (30-90). Should the Giants keep his experience, or go with another promising youngster, Danny Ware (33-181)?

The NY Post speculates that Reuben Droughns won't likely make the Giants' final roster.

Our View:He hasn't seen much action in the preseason and Danny Ware could beat him out for the last spot on the Giants' depth chart at running back. Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Derrick Ward are all viewed as locks to make the team.
