Running back Ron Dayne still has the desire to play in the NFL, and both the Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints have called to check on his physical condition, according to BadgerBeat.com. "I'm waiting until the final cuts to see if anyone will bring me in," he said.

Our View:Dayne had a reasonably good season last year with the Texans, rushing for 773 yards and six touchdowns. But his is 30 years old, which is the magical age running backs usually wind up regressing.

Ron Dayne had what is being called an "impressive" visit to the Titans, but there are no immediate plans to sign him, according to the Tennessean. Kevin Jones was also present for a tryout.

Our View:Dayne would appear to be the better option of the two to join the Titans, but neither back figures to have much value if they do given that the Titans already have at least three options ahead of whomever they sign in LenDale White, Chris Johnson and Chris Henry.

Ron Dayne is going to visit the Titans today, according to the Tennessean. The 30-old bruiser is expected to participate in a physical and workout for team officials. Agent Karim Lawrence said, "What the team said to me was LenDale is coming off a knee injury, so that is maybe a concern of theirs. Ron has proven he can play through whatever."

Our View:The Titans were interested in Dayne last year, but a deal could not be worked out. The Titans are already stocked at running back behind LenDale White, with Chris Henry and promising rookie Chris Johnson. Dayne wouldn't likely make an impact as anything more than a goal-line or short-yardage back in Tennessee.

The Houston Texans are interested in bringing in running back Warrick Dunn for a visit, which could lead to the club releasing Ron Dayne, according to the Houston Chronicle. The Texans have Ahman Green, Darius Walker and Chris Taylor under contract, so signing another back would leave Dayne, an unrestricted free agent, as the odd man out in the rotation.

Ron Dayne (ankle) had a limited workout Thursday and his status for Sunday's game with Jacksonville isn't clear. Darius Walker would pick up extra work if Dayne can't go.
