The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that it's a realistic possibility that Deuce McAllister will not be back with the team in 2009.

Our View:McAllister has battled injuries for a while now, and simply isn't what he once was. With Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas in New Orleans, there may not be a spot for Deuce.

Deuce McAllister commented that he would like to return to the Saints next season, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:He is owed $3.2 million (plus a $2 million roster bonus) in salary for 2009, and the Saints may opt not to bring him back with Pierre Thomas emerging and Reggie Bush expected to be healthy.
December 21, 2008
Deuce McAllister had nine carries for 61 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 vs. Detroit, and added one catch for six yards.

Our View:McAllister got several goal-line carries and nearly as many total carries as Pierre Thomas. Thomas should still be considered the primary running back and better option going into Week 17.
December 18, 2008
Deuce McAllister had to have his surgically repaired knee drained again on Thursday and he missed practice.

Our View:His status for Sunday appears to be questionable. Look for Pierre Thomas and possibly Mike Bell to get most of the carries.
December 11, 2008
Saints inactives: QB Joey Harrington (3rd), DB Terrence Holt, RB Deuce McAllister, LB Tearrius George, T Jammal Brown, DE Rob Ninkovich, WR David Patten, DE Josh Savage.

Our View:McAllister and Patten are the only players that fantasy owners should miss much.
