Cornelius Griffin has been ruled out for the Redskins Week 8 game against the Lions with a shoulder injury, according to the AP.

Our View:Griffen could be ready for this weeks game but head coach Jim Zorn said they are going to give him another week to recover.

Cornelius Griffin's shoulder injury is still very painful and he may potentially sit out Week 8 against Detroit, according to the Washington Post. Coach Jim Zorn noted that Griffin is "really hurting" with the injury.

Our View:Griffin holds little fantasy value for IDP leagues, but he is a solid NFL defensive tackle, and rookie Kevin Smith and the Lions' ground attack would benefit if he is forced to sit out this weekend.

Cornelius Griffin has been upgraded to probable for today's battle against the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He missed most of the week's practices while nursing a shoulder injury.

Our View:Griffin is the Redskins' best interior lineman, and his presence would make it more difficult for the Rams, namely Steven Jackson, to run the ball.
