The Jaguars released Todd Wade Saturday to make room on the roster for Isaiah Gardner.

Our View:Wade was around for depth purposes but was deemed expendable. He could return to the practice squad.

Week 2 inactives: DB Scott Starks, RB Chauncey Washington, MLB Thomas Williams, C Brad Meester, OL Todd Wade, DT Jimmy Williams, WR Jerry Porter (3rd QB), WR Troy Williamson.

Our View:We have already reported the inactive status of receivers Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson. None of the other names on the list are fantasy relevant from a skill position perspective.

The reports of final roster cuts are starting to roll in, and thus far the Washington Redskins may be the most alarming as an obvious lean towards youth is taking hold. Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports offensive lineman Todd Wade , punter Derrick Frost and running back Marcus Mason have all been granted their release and are now listed as free agents.

Our View:Wade will not be unemployed long as many of the veteran offensive linemen will find jobs with immediacy (there is never a shortage of need for offensive linemen). The decision to cut Frost means Durant Brooks, a rookie sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech, won the preseason punting competition. The Redskins cut Mason even though he led the NFL in rushing this preseason.

Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs announced on Tuesday that Todd Wade would start at right tackle in week two. He will replace Jon Jansen, who is out for the season after fracturing and dislocating his ankle on Sunday. "We've talked that over and we'll put Todd in and we'll let Stephon (Heyer) go back and forth between both tackles," Gibbs tells the team's official web site.
