James Hall is expected to replace the injured Leonard Little (hamstring) in Week 2 against the Giants, and work at right defensive end (his natural position), according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Rookie Chris Long will move to the left side.

Our View:Hall is worth consideration this week as he registered 10 tackles (eight solo) in last Sunday's loss to Philadelphia.

Defensive end James Hall and the St. Louis Rams have agreed on a two-year deal, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Hall was released three weeks ago in a salary cap move. He was scheduled to make $3.5 million in 2008 under the old contract, including a $500,000 roster bonus due the first weekend of the free agency period. Bothered much of last season with a high ankle sprain, Hall tied for seventh on the team with 59 tackles, and registered a team-high 20 quarterback pressures, but posted only 2.5 sacks.

James Hall is meeting with the Vikings on Friday, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Released by the Rams this offseason, Hall recently met with the Bills but didn't sign an offer.

With three veteran defensive ends on Buffalo's roster many thought the Bills would add a fourth end in the draft, but today’s visit by free agent defensive end James Hall indicates the possibility of an alternative approach, according to BuffaloBills.com. Hall, who was released by the St. Louis Rams earlier this month to avoid paying him a $500,000 roster bonus and $3 million in base salary, is likely viewed by the Bills as a situational pass rusher at this point in his career.

The Rams released James Hall on Friday. The $3.5 million in cap space that the Rams save is nice, but now they have no defensive end opposite Leonard Little. They'll almost surely pick Chris Long now at No. 2 in the draft if Miami passes on him.
