Dan Kreider has been released by the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The team signed linebacker Larry Grant as the adjoining move.

Our View:Kreider, who was the starting fullback, took care of business in the running game, but was a liability in pass protection as he allowed too many sacks.

Dan Kreider has left the Steelers as he inked a deal with the Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:Brian Leonard is going to be the starting fullback, so Kreider was added for insurance. Kreider could see time in short-yardage and in goal-line situations as Steven Jackson's lead blocker, but won't hold any fantasy value.

Dan Kreider, who is an unrestricted free agent with the Steelers, has been invited to training camp by the Rams, according to LancasterOnline.com.

Our View:Kreider is trying to bounce back from a torn ACL that he sustained last season. Kreider offers little while carrying the ball, but he is a strong and accomplished blocker and would compete with Brian Leonard for the lead role at fullback if he accepts the Rams' invitation, and if his knee checks out fine.

Dan Kreider practiced yesterday and was upgraded to probable for tomorrow's game, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He's nursing a sore knee.
February 3, 2006
