With his roster spot already in question after the Cardinals signed J.R. Redmond and James Jackson, Troy Hambrick has been placed on the PUP list with a foot injury, according to the Arizona Republic.

That the Cardinals signed James Jackson and J.R. Redmond yesterday, doesn't bode well the chances of Troy Hambrick making the roster. He did not attend offseason workouts.

The Cardinals extended the contract for Troy Hambrick through 2006, according to the Arizona Republic. Monday was the deadline for teams to extend contracts and count a portion of the signing bonus against this year's salary cap.

Troy Hambrick carried 16 times for 79 yards and a touchdown against the Saints on Sunday. Hambrick got most of his work in the second half spelling Emmitt Smith as the Cardinals went to a run-heavy attack.

The Cardinals acquired running back Troy Hambrick and defensive end Peppi Zellner from the Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how Hambrick handles backing up Emmitt Smith, as he wasn't exactly happy in that role when the two were in Dallas together a few years back.
