Our View:Cook was released by the Texans not long after a marijuana possession charge, and is merely adequate as a fullback, but the Buccaneers are desperate at the position, after losing Storer and BJ Askew to injuries. Cook will hold no fantasy value, but at least Earnest Graham won't have to spend time at fullback now.
October 1, 2008 A prosecutor has decided to drop a marijuana possession charge against former Texans' fullback Jameel Cook, according to FOX Sports.
Our View:There was insufficient evidence to show Cook knew there was marijuana in his car when he was pulled over by a patrol officer in August. Cook still faces misdemeanor counts of driving with an invalid license, failure to maintain insurance, no front license plate, expired registration and expired inspection sticker.

Our View:Cook is free on a $500 personal recognizance bond after being arrested by a Fort Bend County sheriff's deputy who reported finding marijuana in Cook's 2007 Mercedes sedan. Cook had no valid (expired) Texas driver's license and no proof of liability insurance. Cook was a longshot to make the Texans this season prior to the arrest.
December 14, 2006 Jameel Cook will not play this week due to his ailing knee, according to the Houston Chronicle. In fact, the Texans likely will place the fullback on injured reserve, formally ending his season.
