November 17, 2008 Neither Lawrence Tynes nor John Carney will be named the permanent kicker for the New York Giants, as the team will make a decision on who will kick for them on a game-by-game basis, the New York Daily News reports. "I’m not going to say it’s one way or the other. It’s a week to week or game to game decision," said Giants coach Tom Coughlin.
Our View:Now fantasy owners have a Denver running back/Mike Shanahan situation with kickers. If you are really devoted to having a Giants kicker on your roster, then you'll have to monitor the situation every Sunday. Otherwise, it may be easier just to get another kicker off the waiver wire.
November 16, 2008 Kicker Lawrence Tynes is active and will start over John Carney for the Week 11 game against the Ravens. They prefer Tynes's stronger leg over Carney due to the windy conditions.
